The tractor has a suspension pressure gauge. There's no scale on the trailer. If you're concerned, scale it on the kitty-cat and turn in the receipt for reimbursement.

That's been my main frustration here.. I kept hearing about how this was non forced dispatch, yet when talking with Vogel at orientation I'm told that I would be coerced into taking a load, and in the past time I have been dealing with the company and have gotten loads that didn't even have enough time, but told basically to take it or else. Home time hasn't been too bad, I run 7-9 days and get home for my 34, but when there is something I have to be home for on a specific date and I need that whole day off, I wouldn't get home until that nite on the day I was supposed to be off. I know it sounds like I'm bad mouthing VW, but if they want to keep drivers, they need to try being more honest with answering a driver's questions instead of being condescending or evasive, especially when I have been out here just short of 18 years, and I have a good idea of when someone at a company is trying to bs me. The money has been good here, but Sheldon needs to get its act
together when it comes to respecting the drivers instead of being evasive when it comes to giving an honest, straight answer to drivers' concerns. Just my .02$. -
I couldn't agree more. I hit the house yesterday just long enough to sign off on our tax return, do 1 load of laundry, and hit the bricks again this morning. I think VW's is a good company, all things considered, however, if there is very little home time, this arrangement may not work long term. I dont live to work. i work to live. The big issue is, they book way more loads than they have trucks. The good thing is, there's freight. Planning? Nope, greed. Cover 'em somehow boys!

So what area are you guys running when you get short changed on hometime? Northeast or Midwest?
-
Wow that always sucks when that happens i totally agree.. ive been staying out rgt around almost 2week mark then go home for 2 days minimum... ill do this for awhile by my choice then im going to want to b home weekly.. ive been making good money though.. I shoulda came here 6 months ago! I def wasted time at last company.. my 1st full week check here was great! No check ever came close to this here at previous job.. if its good like this consistentally ill b here for awhile. Hope they clean up the hometime issue for yall as well as me if it does happen. Ive been doin nothing but midwest runs and out to va and back... ive told em ill take a west coast run or hell tx or fla would b nice.. guess time will tell...

Matt it seems us midwest guys are getting a bit shortchanged....its been getting a bit tighter on the 34s...but the new HOS may change that so im just going to tough it out...im spending time with my wee ones this week..I got a nice load going to the northwest that leaves friday night...yeah I got to cut my time with little ones a little short and I am going to be pushing the ddt a wee bit...cause the ex cant take them back til 3 and my ddt is 2230...and its about 5hrs from her house to home...so yeah a wee bit tight but I know I have tons of wiggle room due to tysons dispatching at 50...and the first leg will suck a bit... tried to wiggle out of it but I know if I do I will have a ###### weekend of short haul brokered freight that will suck hind titty...
-
Monday I got empty I was told they have 25 loads and 10 empty trucks, they couldn't afford to send me home. So, no restart this week, recapping like the old days!
-
I'm not even holding my breath when it come to the proposed HOS nightmare coming up in July. If this court ruling goes the same as the others it will either be shot down or an injunction will be filed until more "testing" can be done.
-
I80 has reopened in Wyoming rock springs to cheyanne just watch out some Icey spots as of 4-18 0900 be careful drivers be safe
-
A nightmare yes, but I don't think it will be shotdown. The gov't is ran by technocrats, and they're not concerned with cost.Besides if they get their wày there will be many new drivers thanks to the proposed immigration bill?
