i learned how to run a winch truck on a direct drive. they told me if i learned with that truck. i would be able to operate any winch truck. they were right. hyro setups are way easier to run. but i don't dislike direct drives. you just have to be a little more careful with them.

Oh my. Look Longknocker, no one sugarcoated anything. I was simply stating the guy that runs things seems knowledgeable and stable and not an egotistical knucklehead like some folks I talked with. The pay and benefits and equipment of this company are outstanding. Example: DAY ONE IRA with 6% company matching. 90 days for BCBS. 5day two off work week with night shift differential. Now, compared to another oilfield offer I had hauling production water was with no matching 401k and shifts were 5 on with one day off. This is a better deal. Now, yes, it remains to bee seen how well the outfit is managed and if they pay like they say, etc.

Thanks for the input, I think I will pass on them, not because of the work but because I still have two more months at home before I can actually go to work and can't see it sitting.
