that cat motor is great if your heavy hauling and MPG's are not as important as power. the 12.7 wont keep up with this truck but fuel mileage pulling a dry van wins.
buddyvuk Thanks this. -
A starter truck maybe?????http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3954703
And if your going to pull a van......http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4217647

nice Classic or an ugly Columbia
Gordon Gekko said never let emotions make a business decision

buddyvuk. Are you really in the market for a truck ? Or are you just shining on us ? I've seen you post , truck after truck. What's the deal ? Yeah , we all want the Best deal we can find , but you seem to be all over the place . Pete's, KWs , Freightshakers ,Volvo , with Cats Cummins , Detriots .
Gonna pull a dry van or reefer ? You say one or the other. In both , weight equals money. Freightshakers. They're the lightest. Cheap on fuel , easy to rebuild, Detroit. What's the problem ?
If you've got the Stash you say you do , and have a plan , what the heck is keeping you from pulling the trigger ?
Frankly , I wish I had Time , to find all the good trucks you've listed , and , apparently , looked at!
Every time I see a new post from you , on a different truck , I wonder.
Anyway , if you're really in the market for a used truck , I wish you all the luck in the world.
If you're just pulling a fast one on us , well , the sooner gone , the better.
I did some searching , found something I could live with , and bought it. No regrets , so far. They all got problems , even new ones .
That's all I'm gonna say. Good Luck to you. -
Buddy sorry to burst your buble here. But you keep making Threads asking everyone should you buy this truck or that truck. Honestly if you don't know too much about em or what specs to get. Don't go into an Owner op so fast... Plus you ONLY got 25k So you got no money for fuel/Plates Or money for repairs if u start driving and break down flat tire so on so on.... Save your money do your research please.

it has everything I want! except size. I am 6'7" ...would really like little more room. But everything else looks good!

Why wont a 12.7 keep up????????I bet I know 5 12.7 right now that will out pull and out run itbuddyvuk Thanks this.

3.70 with lp 22.5 with a 12.7 turned up getting 7s To many people thank that fast gears many better mpg if they run slower. turning 1100 rpms does not mean better mpg over 3.70 turning 1600rpms. those 2.79 up to 3.55 lose so much power for pulling hills and big time fuel lose is on the hills. every shift is fuel out the stacks that's why these new trucks getting 6 to 7 with all this tech yet my 96 and 2000 classic XL turn 7 daily......

simmer down... I too have a modded 12.7, it was a generalized statement. stock for stock it will out pull. The 3406e was a motor that help make cat a heavy haul go to engine. If he modded it, it can also produce decent mileage. not the same as 12.7 ever will, but not bad.buddyvuk Thanks this.
