I do and I wont go back. I have the same feelings as ezx1100 does. Sure my way is not legal all the time but its safer and that's all I care about. If I wake up feeling sick and after an hour I cant take it and stop for a few hours I get back up and drive on and feel alittle better. Elog you do that and you might as well finsh your second 10

Simple?? Nothing is simple for me... :biggrin_25526: Now, what about this scenario.... If I am held at customer for hrs and then have 8 hrs left from my 14... I guess I would have to wait 30 more mins before start driving so I could finish it and do my PTI before having to go to line 1 or 2 again to satisfy this mandatory break. Correct?

Ohh... let me try to answer my own question... I would not have to wait 30 more mins because I would not drive after my 8 hr driving. Now... is that correct? :biggrin_25519::biggrin_25526:

Have I told anybody lately how much I love elogs!! Oh and my company is putting in drive cam's can't wait. Trucking rocks!! So easy to tell those who have no clue on how elogs work. Anyway time for a nap 34 is almost up and I can hopefully go pick up my load and head to the big D. Maybe I can run by the yard and hope they put that cool drive cam in the truck. Yee hawww

You can't drive after working for 8 hours before taking a half hour break. I'm assuming it's like working past the 14 , legal to be on duty not driving, but not on duty driving.

I figure split breaks in my head, it isn't that hard, but if you think you need an e-log or a computer to do that, well have at it.

Just stop at a loves and pilot park behind the double stacked fuel island. Once in the fuel island go get you a sub or some mickey's D's. Wait another 15 minutes after you get back to your truck. For the driver to move who's in front of you, and Your 30 min break is complete. This does suck for drivers like me who don't like to stop. But If this does happen. I may implement more split breaks and since I may have a drive cam in the truck. I may have to actually stop to use the bathroom. Rather then use the portable potties ;). So in those cases I could knock off the 30 min break as well. I believe my issue would be more with the 34 reset provision, but after a few tries. I'm sure I'd get use to it. Is it 34 or 36 now I forgot. Don't pay much attention since computer does all the work. So to those in the know.

I arrived at receiver about 2pm yesterday. Still here so under the new law which I haven't read yet. Would my restart still be legal If I left at 12pm tonight. Please explain in the most basic of english if not. Thanks :)

You need TWO periods between 0100 and 0500 on your home terminal time zone within the reset to be legal. So... you'd be legal at 0500 tomorrow (the 20th,) assuming you started at 1400 on the 18th.

    Not " all eloggers " will be starting at 5 a.m. Many don't need a 34 hour restart and many others don't start at 5 a.m. .
As far as speed limiters goes truckers have themselves to blame for that . NHTSA published a Request For Comments on speed limiters in 2006 . Over 3,000 truck hating citizens supported speed limiters . Less than 1,000 truckers opposed . How many members does OOIDA have ? Less than .01% commented . Half of them could have outnumbered the supporting comments .

That's what I thought. That's jacked up. So I would spend close to 40 hours or so doing a reset. Taking up space at some rest area or truck stop. When I could be heading to pick up next load or going down the road. Some sleepy truck driver or 4 wheeler could be needing that spot. While i'm twiddling my thumbs. Trying to find somebody to mess with on the trucking forum. They are making it unsafe. I say we Strike. Enough is enough.
