Noggin, your dad work out of Long Island or St. Augustine? Grumman Iron Works - they take a beating and keep on flying. Not as pretty as the Fighter Attack Guys (###'s lol), but it has been getting the job done for almost 60 yrs. Looks pretty much the same, but the guts have been upgraded to sorta keep up with the times.

Azcannon, an interesting point about the low point. Work to change what you can, but the industry is pretty much the same across the board from what I can see. Each company has its goods and others. You just have to figure out the combination that fits for you.

many people ask that stuff, I reccommend asking recruiters / human resources questions like that. ie. health insurance,,coverages, vacation pay,Its different depending on where you live and different companies have different hometimes, benefits. Drivers can be wrong with what they pass on or it may be different for you and that would cause a problem.Don't be afraid to talk to recruiters, I have seen many of ours and wish they would bite. Good luck with your new career

    Countryman86 Thanks this.

let me give a little more info here. I've done a lot of research about melton and from what I see there a good company to drive for. they also run flatbeds and that's a big plus cause that's what I want but Im worried about my downshifting. I can downshift but I do tend to grind the gears some in my lower range gears (5th and down) so I wanted to know if they would send me home because of that. I don't wont to mess up any chance to work for them because I do plain on trying to work for them at some point I just don't know if I should try now or wait tell I have more exp. Thank you for the help.
