Is there any truck parking near Water Mills on the far East side of the island? I'm going back and may pick up this load, but I want to sit for my 10 hours then bug out in the early morning on my way to NJ.

When I go out to the island and need to take a 10 hour break, I usually do it at the shipper / receiver. Barring that, you can usually find a Lowe's parking lot to camp out at.

Short answer: no, there aren't any places to park in Watermill. That's a highly expensive residential area for the most part, and you'll get unwanted attention from Southampton PD. Park at the shipper if they have room, otherwise plan on getting up-island a ways before stopping. Abandoned or mostly empty shopping centers can be a safe bet, if you park far away from cars.

you might try florence building supply (631 653 6600) in east quogue. they're only open m-f 7-5 and have a big dirt lot next to the yard. at the very least you can turn around there and on the north side of quogue/riverhead road there's a pull off spot right before you get back on sunrise. no facilities.

Good call, had completely forgotten about that one. Shame on me, I grew up in Eastport and Hampton Bays.

    Exit 64S off the Sunrise....

if the other one doesn't work for you, get off the lie at exit 70 (going west), cross captain daniel like you're getting back on the lie and right there is a really wide spot that looks like a road was going to be cutting off to your right and they changed their mind.

You might just try not going there in the first place. So the insurance man, when he becomes hungry from food shortage will know that no one wants to bring in his groceries to the east cost, then they will need to let new people in the industry that might want too and lighten up on the ridicules 2 years (recent) experience a bit.Baby boomers are retiring left an right, and no one coming in to replace them very easy.

Might be a little late to ask this, but which bridge should I use? I'm thinking the Goethals with it's $75 toll. Is the toll both ways?

Is there a cheaper tunnel or am I not allowed to use them?

I should be entering about 11 am.
