They told me the first year payments was for maintenance and didn't count toward payoff. That was enough for me to hear.

I was thinking about getting a truck from them also. But after finding out you must put up 500 dollars just to see if you can get into their so-called program, another $1000.00 for an escrow to has the truck work on if it needs some repairs, then the down payment. I said to myself hell to the naw and never looked back. I will also added they are rude as hell and I don't do business with someone I must kissed their blank to get good service. The trucks are price to high also, but that is the price of doing business if you have bad credit. I will suggested to find a good truck and pay a high down payment no matter if it killed you to come up with it and go from there. But never deal with crookers because you will always get the bad end of the deal every time! Just saying.

My son inlaw was thinking of buying from them a few years ago, i forgot what they called them selves them, but anway I checked the BBB and they dont even have a rating that goes that low! not to include the lawsuits and other investigation against them.
I wonder how long its going to take before they run out of names and relitives to keep putting that buisness in.

Want to hear the sobering reality of all this????--- there are people here with BAD credit asking how they can "buy" a truck from ripoff artists. Wow, how desperate does a person have to be to fail?

Here are the facts: People with bad credit have a history of making bad decisions. American Truck Showrooms has a history of taking money from people who make bad decisions. This is a cesspool of filth.

YOU CANNOT BE AN O/O WITH NO MONEY. Stay a company driver, live in your truck if you have to (free housing) and pay off your debts. Once your fico score gets above 650 (closer to 700 would be ideal) save up for a down payment on a good used truck. Learn what needs to be looked at from a mechanical standpoint.

Or there is always the road you have already traveled: keep dreaming.

I talked to them a long time ago. I stopped at the application fee, and the fact the guy told me not to ask questions until he finished his pitch. I hung up on him. And he then called me everyday for ywo weeks asking why I wouldnt buy from them. I fianced my own, an im better off for it.

They give everyone the same song and dance, selling them the pipe dream that they support American trucker and they only want to help you accomplish that dream of you owning your own truck, and then they bend you over and give it to you dry and hard!

There are some good places people with bad credit can go. I found a company through freightliner. They put me in a lease purchase. Have worked with me on payments after breakdowns, and slow freight.
