^ We get an in cab red light on all prepass scales. However, I will give TransAm credit, they do seem to maintain their equipment well. That is not to say everything is perfect but IMHO they do a good job. Anytime I have pointed out a defect it has been repaired or approved for repair on the spot without question.

I had an Ohio Public Safty officer pull me over to do a random inspection. I don't think I was targeted as a TransAm driver, I just pulled up on him and we ran side by side for about 10 miles and I think he had nothing better to do. This officer seemed thorough in his level II, walk around inspection and the rig and trailer passed with flying colors and I was on my way.

I think like in most companies that have a number of lease and driver trucks running the drivers time is money so you have some drivers that are new to trucking or new to leasing or both, they pick up a trailer that may have a light out or some other minor issue and then decide to run with it. Down the road they get stopped at the scale or road side, a ticket follows and the company's CSA ticks up a bit as a result. We all have gone to pick up a trailer just to find it has a flat, bad light, broken crank, loose pad or missing slide pin. You can bet the driver before knew about it however once he dropped it he did not care to report it, he just wants to find his load and get going so it becomes the next drivers headache. That next driver has to decide weather to leave it or get it fixed either way he will take a hit to the wallet. If the first drive only reported it than it could have been fixed while it was setting not in use. it only takes a few minutes normally. that is unless you have a shop that likes to wait 20 minutes before they pick up the phone. They have some blame as well because it make drivers become frustrated to the point of saying forget it. Ok im ranting and im sure im preaching to the masses but maybe one person will read it and say hmmm, next time im not gonna stick it to the driver after me!

I go through the chicken house all the time and was pulled in 1 time in Colorado, and that was just to check my CDL and truck registration, and down the road I went. I have had no problems with them yet. Knock on wood.

I just dropped at Walmart in Cheyenne and there were no empties s Im sitting bobtail a the TA off x377. Thry are trying to force a reset by not dispatching me and the custom short I pulled up yesterday doesnt have early pickup til 0700 Sunday. Ugh. Not to mention I need to get to a terminal to get my satellite fixed brcause the dumb thing no longer makes any sound at all. Again. This is gonna be a long weekend.

They're havng me sit overnight and check back at Walmart tomortow for an empty. If they dont have one by 0700, they will have me grab one from Lowes. Id rather just go to Lowes cause its 10 miles closer! I also told them I dont want that custom short. I spent three days dying to get out of Ohio, Im not turning right back around and going back! Lol. Plus I need to get my satellite fixed.
