Well, vacation is over. Spent a wonderful week with my better half but is over too soon.
Had a load from El Monte, CA to Eau Claire, WI but I have a rental trailer and those need to stay out west. Now I'm on a load of scrap that I picked up in Downey, CA that I'll drop in Flagstaff and then I'll scoot over to Bellemont to pick up my next ppln which is a two stopper going to Temple, TX and the final stop in San Antonio.Kutina Thanks this. -
Hubby is finishing week three of training, has his prehire from HOW....How long before I can ride? Also, he has made friends with a trainer named Gary. Gary says he's already arranged for him to be his trainer. Is this an advantage? People on this thread seem happy in their choice of company, so I thought I would jump right in. Also...Weeble, why doesn't your lady ride along? Are there disadvantages....cause...all I can think of...are. benefits
-
Gary is a good trainer. He runs for 13 days and then takes a couple off, running primarily down south.
It's 6 months of safe driving before passengers are allowed and at no cost. My lady does ride with me but Wolding has a no permanent rider policy, meaning they can't be on the truck year round. I usually stay out for a month or so while she's with me so it works out. And yes, nothing but benefits.
Right now we are in the stages of moving so lately she's been hanging out with friends more before she leaves, apartment shopping, and getting all of her stuff ready to go.Kutina Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info! I hope move goes well. Sucks about the no perm. Rider though, we were going to rent out our house...I guess I will have to learn that thing people call patience. lol

I ended my week last week with about 3,500 miles and made it home by Friday afternoon. It seems I've worked myself into a groove and have been able to crack 600 miles a day relatively consistently and a reset over the road allows for a jump start on the weeks miles. Starting sometime between 1-3 in the morning seems ideal for me.
I'm on a load from Omaha to Little Chute right now and am sitting on a preplan from Sheboygan to Ohio. I could definitely go for one of those long Arrizona runs... -
Ok I am in school right and would to work for h.o.w how are they?

What was the biggest challenge for you guys at orientation? I understand that training is roughly three weeks, then you get your truck. Was there anything in particular that was focused on, that you didn't cover in school?
