Most of you are probably thinking "Here we go again, another rookie/newbie on the thread" which that doesnt bother me at all. But I have done my research on which company I want to get my career started with and I am seriously thinking Maverick. I want a company that I can start and stay in for a while. I dont like jumping from job to job. But anyways I have heard nothing but good things about Maverick and thats what has drawn me to them. Also for you Drivers that work for Maverick, do you know of any dedicated accounts in middle Tennessee (Nashville Area) Had someone from Maverick come speak to us at the school where I recieved my CDL and said that Maverick was starting a dedicated account in that area with Home Depot I think it was. What are your thoughts on that for a beginning driver?
Any other comments/ suggestions will be very much appreciated!

I cant help you on the Nashville area dedicated, however, I do know that if you call the recruiting dept. they will answer most, if not all your questions. Maverick recruiting will not lie to you! You may not like everything they tell you, but it will be the truth.
mje Thanks this. -
Thank You. I know the Guy that came and talked to us was pretty straightforward about everything and I have heard the same thing about Maverick from others. I plan on calling very soon. Just wanted to see if I could get some info off of here first. Thank You!

Unlike some other groups on the forums here, we enjoy talking to and providing information to the new guys. Aside from the occasional joke in fun, you'll be treated with as much respect as our veteran drivers and posters here.
Feel free to ask any questions that you'd like. You're in a prime location for all of our divisions. If you're considering TCD at all, I can answer any questions you have about it, and there are lots of long term flatbed and glass guys ready to answer your questions about those divisions as well.
From what I understand, the dedicated accounts are usually pretty nice if you're lucky enough to live near one. Some of them even have you home every night while still making OTR level pay - a dream come true for a lot of guys.
But Recruiting can definitely answer your questions. If you haven't spoken to anyone specific yet, call Courtney, she's a sweetie and never once lied to me during the whole process, and she was very knowledgable. You can tell her Tim in 12913 told you to call lol.Mikey91 Thanks this. -
Thank you very much! A professional company with people willing to help anyone especially a young guy like me is what I am looking for!
I am mainly interested in the flatbed division, but I am willing to take a look at the other divisions as well.
That is what I have heard about the dedicated accounts also. Good pay and home every night and I agree that would be a dream come true.
And I will do that when I call recruiting! I will let you know what she says back lol
Thank You again for your input!jxu417 Thanks this. -
Now hang on just a minute there,,, A dedicated question deserves an answer from a guy on a dedicated LOL. I know that the Home Depot account when it started had the guys running in TCD trucks, and that looked really strange. But I believe that account is still going strong. I think that those guys don't even carry chains and binders come to think of it. It is not a home every night deal though. It should be guaranteed home weekends like my division though. There may be a few times during the month that you could sneak home for a 10 if you are going right by the house. It happens, but not routinely.

Lol well thank you. I have seen a daycab in town two or three times in the past few months. I believed they were delivering to the home depot, but there is also numerous factories around. So I assumed that the dedicated account was still being ran in this area. Getting home every night is not a priority but I figured If I have the chance to be able too then I would look into it lol.

If they have added Day cabs to that account it has been just fairly recently. I was riding alongside one of them guys in Northern TN a couple of weeks ago and was chatting with him on the cb. I didn't ask if they had day cabs, and he didn't say. So.... maybe. Ask recruiting. And if ya forget CaptainX3's truck number, mine is 13261 LOL HAHAHAHAHA!

I see. Yeah I guess I'll give recruiting a call and ask so I can get all the details lol. And I'll just mention both of yalls numbers to be fair unless I can be persuaded otherwise hahaha.

ROTFL!
The referral bonus is nice, but I'm much more interested in obtaining and keeping high quality drivers. Doing so keeps our level of service high, which in turn allows us to charge our customers more than your run of the mill carrier, which in turn keeps our pay rates high. As CSA scores really develop and become ultra important, those of us who take care of our business will be in very high demand, and will be able to ask for premium pay.
That's one of the main reasons I try to talk to potential drivers on here as much as possible, to get an idea of whether or not their attitude is a good match with Maverick and the way we do things. The last thing we need is stupid drivers screwing up our loads and ticking off our customers.
The main reason I mention my name and truck number is because I haven't had a single successful referral yet, and I'm anxious to get that first one on my record lol. But I wouldn't go to war with another driver over it
I remember when Maverick started that Home Depot account, I was the guy who drove the shuttle van along with another student driving a second van out to Nashville to pick up the 15 TMC drivers that came along with the account. It was tons of fun.Mikey91 Thanks this.
