Yeah man, I was really grateful Reddaway gave me chance. Always wanted to get in here and was pretty happy when they called. I came from US Foods I was actually glad they showed me the door.

Your back X ray does not pass our standards. I have 53,000 left to pay on this truck! Sorry. I have paid 94,000 off. Sorry. NO medical card for you. What you have in store boys. I ate 19,000 to sell it. We settled. I got on Craigs list. I watched, waited, got my truck back @ auction. Can't do better than that.

One guy here at my Reddaway yard had driven 3 months over a year ago and hadn't worked since. Before that, he didn't work for a year. He did have 7 or so years experience. He passed the road test and got the job!

You could try any kind of construction job flatbed, dump truck. delivering construction material rebar, lumber, drywall, home depot etc. Its spring there all hiring right now...! Any thing if they use semi trucks. Good luck.

If you drove OTR for 3 years you can drive now. It's like riding a bike. You just need one outfit to give you a shot with a road test. You may just need to find a smaller one with less rigid rules who can be a bit more flexible on who they hire. Then you could easily parlay your "recent" LTL experience into a job with one of the mega LTL's, if you wanted.

If i had my way, i would go back to tech school and become a Plumber or Hvac tech. Oh well, 9 more years and my trucking days will be done.

Thanks everyone for the replies! I've got an OTR job lined up and will be back on the road in a few weeks. LTL seems great, but starting with the extra board/on-call isn't going to work for me.

I could never be a Fireman. I'm not strong enough to deal with tragedy and death daily. They deserve all the money, benefits and chicks they get.
