    Congrats goblue!

Got my first nice, long load today. Owatonna, MN to La Grange, GA south of Atlanta. Maybe I'll finally use up my 11-hour clock before my 14-hour runs out. :)

    Kutina Thanks this.

Enjoy the hills. Had my engine brake set to auto because I either had my foot on the floor going up or the exhaust brake on coming down! Hit 69 mph about one hundred times...downhill of course.

Now on 14/7. They sold my '07 Volvo while I was driving it so getting a different truck when I go back on Friday. Great experience with Roehl from start in Jan at RDTC through phase II & III. Didn't hit anything or anyone...although just missed a bus stop on a corner by inches in downtown Pittsburg this week. Getting more confidence that I can do this job safely every week. Roehl fleet managers have been helpful and instructive when I needed them. This forum has been a good read and let's you know everyone's going through the same stuff. If you see me on the road with an OSU cap, say hi. Already met drivers that knew me from these posts. Good luck while finishing phase III Goblue, Technoroom & Irish.

Yes, agreed, she has been terrific, no complaints from me at all. I hope to get someone equally skilled and personable when I go "mainline"!

Holy crap yeah, that hill/mountain near Chattanooga is quite a ride! My return load is from Adel, GA to Teutopolis, IL so today I got to go back up that same hill with stacks of particle board; truck is at 79500 GVW so had to gear down a bit, heh heh.

Roehl is giving me a new '14 ProStar condo to drive around. That should be an adjustment from the leaking fluid, parts falling off weekly '07 Volvo.

    Kutina Thanks this.

Yaaay! Heh, an "adjustment." From what I've heard there have been a number of issues with those that merited recalls, but hopefully you'll be lucky. When I was out with my trainer we had a '14 ProStar and it would occasionally start "wheezing" -- losing power in spurts.

The in-cab controller on the APU in my '07 shaker died a couple days ago. Fortunately it was right before I was due for hometime; hopefully they can get it fixed sometime early in my next run. I'm up to 633,000 miles on it now, supposedly 17,000 short of the magic 650k where they take them out of circulation. We'll see.

Hey everyone.. Ive read most of this thread and i have a couple questions. Can anyone tell me if the trucks have APUs or power inverters, or do they allow the trucks to idle? and what about logs? do they use qualcomm or some other computer system?
