They went from wanting drivers with 2years experience to 6months. No driver with over a year of experience should apply here because that place is for noobs and they way they set up their runs you wont get paid much. Day salary 50bucks and they refuse to give their driver a decent run with over 500miles.
STAY AWAY!
what are your thoughts?

this just another company you dont drive for?
but heard from a friend about a guy
who told a guy that................................... -
What gave it away... The fact that they have trucks... Most all trucking companies are liars.. and most play games with miles.. The economy sucks.. they are going to abuse you right now.. Get over it.. I am willing to bet most drivers on here are unhappy right now... It is always like this in a recession.. Yeah it has been a protracted recession but conditions will not get any better until jobs are being created in the other private sector areas so all these morons that wanna be truckers will go back to being a bank teller or real estate agent.. There is no such thing as recession proof freight..Spring Chicken Thanks this.

they have a webster account in S.Windsor CT that i worked for. Good try mr internet guy

just like every company some are happy some are not
the intermodal guys seem content being home daily
but og course i dont know having not driven for them -
I did intermodal for JB Hunt out of Chicago from 4/08 to 10/11. Gross 50k a year. Paid .365 a mile, $20 drop/hook at customer, $30 live load/unload, $10 hour detention after 90 minutes. This extra pay took me to .54 a mile. Great equipment and benefits but the extra pay has been eliminated. A lot more live loads and no detention. You now work harder to make the same or maybe less money.
Side note: JB uses a recruiting service. The recruiter only gets paid when the driver shows up at orientation. Some of these recruiters have been known to lie. You should also know that JB does not do any pre hire screening which is why 40% to 60% of the class is sent home the second day. -
Thats why you need to find a company that the recruiter gets paid by the hour not person
im with a carrier that has 975 OTR trucks. And everything i was told is 100% true
-
I'm just wondering out of everything he said, what they actually lied about? Companies can't change their hiring practices and require more or less experience? That's a lie?
-
JB isn't for newbies or bottom of the barrel drivers, All companies have the same recruiting policies, When I came to work for JB I had to talk to a recruiter but that conversation didn't last long cause I went beyond him and found out everything I needed to know. If people don't like this company that is their obligation.
-
When I talked to a recruiter I got a different breakdown of the account then when I talked to the lady that did my app. She said they paid drop pay and live load pay no weekends off. Recruiter said no drop pay or live load pay and 3 options for 2 days off Fri-Sat, Sun-Mon, or Tue-Wed. So know what to believe? This is for the intermodal 4 state regional out of Chicago,il
