Memorial Day weekend is my anniversary. Just thought I would be nice about and wait. Lol
-
I see Cypress posting on CL every day in need of drivers and have always heard very bad reports about them in the past. I also see their trucks almost every day on I-4 or I-75 they look fairly run down and old. It would be nice to see them making a turn around becuse we really need some good options here in FL. I bet if they started getting good reviews and updated there fleet they would have more applications than they could handle.

A large fleet like cypress is always going to run adds, just the way it is, there's no way to keep that many trucks full all year whatever you might do as a company. They seem to be better than a lot of these other Florida based companies, although I have no experience with them so I can't say for sure.

I ran with Heyl out of Zephyrhills for awhile, I had to quit becuz they broke a promise to me and put me in a tuff position but all in all they were fairly good to work for with good equipment and good miles with home time. When I left they did not hurt my DAC so I can't say anything bad about them.

My first post!
I filled out an application for Cypress over the weekend, had a couple of questions. I'm in Orlando and noticed they have a terminal in Tampa, any idea what the home time is like and can I take the truck home? I am still in Mid Florida Tech until June 11th I am just wanting to get my feet wet in the industry, and I have this company at the top of my list at the moment. The Challenger Thanks this. -
Hey I'd, far as I know you can get home every weekend if you want. Not sure yet about taking truck home. Why not call them, it's a good question to ask.

Sorry not I'd, but jd.lol

Just to update, my schooling, location, and record was not a problem. Unfortunately I have to be 26 (I'm 24) to attend their tarp training. Also Roehl won't hire me because I don't have 3-6 months of experience even though their website says they hire grads...frustrated.

Back in '99 or 2000 I applied, went to orientation when they had a "terminal/yard" in Cartersville, Georgia. About midway through the 1st day of a two day orientation, the term manager said my truck was ready if I wanted to put my gear in.
Walking out to it when I spotted it I said a prayer, "Please Lord let this NOT be the truck." Low & behold the ragged out, filthy inside and out POS with NO A/C was what they expected me to be happy to drive.
I told the guy right there, if this was the equipment there was no need for me to waste their or my time finishing orientation. I was going home and finding another job.
This outfit had NO money invested in me as I lived in the area and drove myself and needed no hotel or eats. They did though put a scratch on my DAC. I forget what they claimed, but they tried to screw me over...and I never worked there.
That's my one and only Cypress story and I still say....STAY AWAY FROM CYPRESS
Side note I did see that broke down POS Peterbuilt a few times for about 6-7 years after. Always the windows were down....I knew they still hadn't fixed the A/C
Sweetdreamz Thanks this.
