If you are not mentally fit while working for any Handtruck food delivering company, you will fail miserably. I've seen athletic guys fail while working for Sysco and peope who have the desire to feed their family and make money, make it. I didn't last long in Sysco because I was canned but I currently work at US FOODS and boy is it great.

Don't let anyone tell you, you cant do something or something is too hard! Try it out and make the decision for yourself.

My trainer at sysco told me, "Think about the money", while working and you'll feel better about the work you are doing...When it rains the job blows but like i said earlier "think about the money"......

    PS..

making 4k a month AFTER taxes is a wonderful feeeling...most college graduates dont even make that! if that doesn't motivate you, I dont know what will!

    Enjoy bro

    That's really awesome dude!

I'm leaving PFG since I'm taking home $2k a month after taxes. The work:pay ratio is just too small for my taste.

Brazsco what's so great about US FOODS in your opinion?Just trying to get some insight since I'm thinking about applying there. That 4 day work week sounds pretty good to me with the option for Saturdays. Is the pay as good as sysco?

Every job is what you make it. USfoods pays as much as Sysco but our products are heavier. Once u learn ur run and get into the groove of busting your ###, yours days become shorter and ur job becomes easier.

5day work week when business isnt slow with an option of working sat. Its normally 4days on but if someone calls out, go on vaca, injured, or quits u have an option to take their run. Not really an option when u have no senority, but theres always work.

check it out! Its hard work but its the best type of hardwork because it PAYS off.

Thanks! That's pretty much the response I was looking for. I'll probably go ahead and apply then and see what happens. They are hiring for delivery driver and shuttle driver for days. So they say. Didn't know there were day shuttle runs though.

Unless its a resident you won't get a shuttle unless no one bids on it which is doubtful. You'll work Days at US Foods, most night runs get bidded on. Unless it sucks. So it'll be a 3am start time most of the time. US foods is like working for FedEx vs Ups. Us Foods being barely a step lower. They are a big dog in the foodservice industry.

Thanks for all that info I'm getting a ton of good advice here. In Houston, where im thinking of applying, sysco and US Foods is hiring. But from what I hear I think I should go with US foods. Unless somebody tells me otherwise? :biggrin_25513: I might just apply to both and see what happens. It's either that or haul crude oil for suncoast.
