Smoking ban angers truckers

The "Nanny State" runs amok.

I suppose it is safer to have a jittery truck driver "jonesing" for a smoke than to have a smoke-filled truck. Not.

 

When are they every going to learn that we can't legislate and regulate everything? Smokers who smoke in their trucks aren't hurting anyone but themselves, there is absolutely no need for this ban. If a company owner wants to ban smoking in their trucks, that is their choice. But to ban it across the board? What is next, I am afraid to see.

 

I'm surprised anyone's listening to it. It's the law here and in New Brunswick, too, but no one enforces it. If they're going to make that the law, are they going to give all truckers a 20 minute break every two hours PAID to stop and have a smoke outside the truck?? I doubt it.

 

Are any other breaks paid (sleeper berth, meal, etc) ?

There was talk of this becoming law in New Jersey as well. Fortunately the bill never made it to a vote. I just quit smoking after 23 years. I hope I never go back to them.

I quit smoking in 90, hardest habit to STOP!
I stopped becuz I like MYSELF.
Just maybe someday someone would like me to for myself. So far so good!

Smoking fills the pockets of The People who make the cig's and then of course our Leaders in Gov, get pay hikes , but then education and health get CANCER!

You are hurting the people outside yourself , who like you and love you.

Trust me, I can't stand being around smokers myself. But we all have bad habits or do bad things that will hurt us. Do I want the government to take away my mountain bike because I can hurt myself? I love food, are they going to ban that? What about my alcohol, we know that can be harmful to oneself. I just worry about these blanket bans on legal activities, where will it stop? I would personally love to see every smoker quit and drive the tobacco companies out of business.

Bottom line for me and cigarette's is: the Govenrment allows the product to be made and it is a scientific fact that the "Manufactured Cig", causes cancer , kills your body slowly , sometimes faster.

So why is it made and sold.

I was playing cards awhile back , and this guy next to me rolled his own and it did not stink or burn your eyes like a "Manufactured Cig".

Has there been a study of plain tobacco, is there such a thing.

Compare the ingredients to the Manufactured Cig. The ingredients put into a cig maybe what is realy harmful.

It is quite a "Money making Gig", those cig's.

Get ya hooked on em, need medical attn, prescription drugs, treatments, hospital, funeral ,ect.

Just plaine pi**es me off!

Cigarettes are bad .
There is nothing Good about them.
