I hate to tell ya this, but outside of moving a truck to a safer location within a short distance to effect an emergency repair, it's illegal to run on a flat dual - worth 30 CSA point against YOU if you're caught. That's if they don't pile on bunches more... like not doing an effective pretrip, not getting your triangles out before the heat shows, etc.

Here's the thing... I've done that too - and most likely will again in the future. Be aware that if a cop pulls you over, you'll need to have your story ready. Also, make sure there isn't a scale house between you and where you're going to get your tire repaired.

I did that at the border coming from Canada into buffalo. They xrayed the rig and I went into pay the fee and locked the keys in. Luck for me they had lockout tools there. Now I have a secret key hidden on the truck
