Hi Guys & Gals. New to forum and looking for some advice. I am looking to rig-up a truck to haul crude in north western Alberta or northern British Colombia. I am looking for opinions backed by fact on which companies I should be looking at which ones to avoid. I am looking for truthful answers backed by personal experience. My future depends on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Speedloader Thanks this.

I have personally worked for gibson energy for 8 years and csi for 6 months both have their ups and downs. And no matter what company you go with there will be a bunch of politics and bs to go with it. I gave up leasing onto a company and bought my own trailers and am now working for myself. Got tired of the games that are played with all of the major crude companies out there

Speedloader and Licensed to kill Thank this.

Yea I figured the ######## would be standard issue with all the big outfits. If I end up enjoying hauling crude I will look at purchasing a trailer or trailers and do the same. Overall in your opinion would Gibson Energy be a decent place to start out and get a feel for the world of crude or would you suggest another company? Do they give you much choice when it comes to the area of the province you can run or are you stuck wherever the demand is? Thanks for the advice, trying to gather all the information I can before committing to anyone.

This is turning into a working/welcome thread. Welcome to the forum Crazy_Horse.

BDT - Drop a line to this guy, he's on the forum called ChainDrive. Here's his profile: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/members/23071-chain-drive/ His Avatar is a round wood hauler, but that pic is from NS, He's a O/O tanker now out west. See what he's up to and what he has on the go.

    ' Luck

I'm sorry, but I gotta ask - Is "round wood" log hauling? Is that what you're doing speedloader.
