Hi. im new at this and have a few questions about per diem. how does this work for taxes? also the company my husband works for is outta south carolina we live in virginia. so do we have to pay both state taxes? what are things we can use as tax right offs? thanks for any help

Can not helpon the "per diem" , but your taxes are figured against the state you reside in ! I pay Indiana state & local taxes , while working for a company in Iowa !
"Per diem" is money they figure is non-taxable for the job ! I am guessing kind of like the food deduction thing . Hope this helps abit . -
If you have a choice on pay options take the non per diem, You can still claim per diem at the end of the year.

what is the percentage of per diem you can claim? the more i look the more i find different percentages
