Air dryer getting extremely hot

    What would cause an air dryer to get extremely hot on a tractor trailer? My buddy is asking because he believes it's on the way out right now.

    Check for airleaks, and spitter valve on bottom of dryer. If you have an air leak the compressor is trying to keep up and this will generate excessive heat.

    Also check that the HEATER ( some have them ) is not STUCK ON
