And I would like to add a question: With my CDL being in one state, may I take the Hazmat test/do anything else involved with gaining my Hazmat Endorsement, in another state, or does it all need to be initated and completed in the state where I have my CDL? Thank you

The way I did it when I got mine, since it usually takes a bit for the TSA to get its checks done, is I went and got fingerprinted and did the forms first (place to do it is a ways from where I live and only does it 2 days a week). Then I went in and took the written tests (drivers license office here is only open 2 days a week as well). Now, much to my surprise mine was approved as soon as I went in to take the written test. Pry a fluke. But some states vary in how them want this process done, so I would call the driver's license office and ask them before I did anything if you are unsure. I asked the TSA when I called them and they said it shouldn't matter too much, but it does depend on the state.

@Twicebit: It has to be done in the state where you got your CDL as far as I know. Also note: if you move to a different state (your permanent address), you will have to retake the hazmat test and the TSA checks, unless I misunderstood something on the rules for this.
Twicebit Thanks this. -
They need to check with their state DMV for the procedure their because procedures vary by stateTwicebit Thanks this.
