Those jobs exist and are not that hard to get with some effort.
Exactly. Company sponsored training should be avoided at all cost.mje and landstar8891 Thank this. -
I truly believe that trucking co's shouldn't be allowed to operate a school...I believe it to be a conflict of interest...the way some of the co's low ball bid freight contracts they don't care due to the fact of $4k & up school contracts they're banking off of..
if a trucking co wants to sponsor someone at an accredited school that would be one way...but I think it's time to force them to either operate solely as school or operate as a trucking company, not both. -
i used to say that, but in reality, companies are in business to make money
and money can bring out the worst in people, some are greedy beyond reason, some are happy with their niche
drivers have to find a company that fits their needs, and whats good for you may not be good for me
when i read about some companies putting driver-facing cameras in their truck, i thought that would be the final straw, but lo and behold, some drivers LIKE it
so really there is no such thing as too low for some of these driversmje Thanks this. -
I'm sure the drivers that like it probably think "Good, this proves I'm doing what I say I'm doing." But this is a HUGE violation of our privacy and can not possibly last long. Especially if people start suing for Fourth Ammendment privacy rights violations. Surveillance camera laws are state specific; however trucks are federal territory. Trucks are also where the driver lives, and could be considered your secluded territory.
I will not post the entire article here, but if you want to read about your rights regarding surveillance in the workplace, here is the link to the National Workrights Institute.
http://workrights.us/?products=electronic-monitoring-in-the-workplace-common-law-federal-statutory-protection
Again, truck drivers have such different laws and are not confined to only one state or workplace, so I honestly couldn't say one way or another if a driver's rights really are being violated, and would have to research it further.mje Thanks this. -
cyber, i agree with you
my point was that there are drivers, right here on this forum, who see this is a good thing or no big deal
so my question to them was, when are you ever going to say, enough is enough?mje Thanks this. -
Too true, and when we are simply just ok with being monitored in such a way, who's to say what's next?
Are we to have all of the freedoms that we fight so hard to protect pulled out from under us?
Sure, it starts small, but so does a snowball rolling downhill. Before long, it'll crush you!
If one person takes a stand, the company will fire them for insubordination without a second thought, and hire some new gullible sucker.
If 10 or even 20 people stand up and say "No freaking way! I'm NOT ok with being under surveillance!", the company would definitely take notice (depending on the size of the company).
Our freedoms and luxuries are slowly slipping away from us to the point where if we keep being just ok with everything, one day we'll wake up to find a robot driver in the driver's seat.
Thankfully that's too expensive.mje Thanks this. -
The ''new'' world order is a very needy, dependant generation and culture..They are ''ignorant'' and just think ''this is the way'' of the new world.Corporate Pigs love this new dumbed down generation of sheeple and mindless sheep..

LOL! And thinking and knowledge are bad! Books should be burned! Works for other countries...Yes, I'm biting my tongue on which ones to name.

It's a consumer-driven society designed to make the rich richer and put everyone else in debt.mje and landstar8891 Thank this.
