What is really sad about this accident is that the driver of Jeep wasn't wearing a seat belt. Roll over accidents along I-91 happen all the time in bad weather, but almost always, the drivers are either able to walk away or have non-life-threatening injuries. I feel so bad for the driver of the truck who became a part of this.

Many of the sections of the highway in Vermont have deep gullies between the north and southbound lanes, so if someone loses it, they're going for a ride.

I read the report in yesterday's Brattleboro paper, which stated the highway was being treated with salt starting at 4:00 AM. Which may very well be true, but Vermont uses less road treatment materials than other neighboring states because of their EPA regulations.

For anyone who has to drive in VT, slow down if you have to drive I-91 during a snow/ice storm, and watch out for drivers merging from Exit 2N. You can't see them, and they can't see you until it's too late.

And folks, just put your seatbelts on. Even if you hate them, they cut into you, whatever the excuse isn't good enough. Wear your seatbelt so no other driver has to live through something like this.
