this is what I do with my extra strap, I've quit using wire and started used "reuseable" zip ties

i also turned all my rachets that had short (>10" extensions) backwards so they look like that

instead of this. My long rachets I used on my passenger side where my trailer (transcraft) has a flat hook bar you hook your flat hooks to, my short ones I use where the trailer for whatever reason has no winch track or flat hook bar.

also I keep my 4 inch winch straps in the passenger side box between the spread rolled with the hook out I throw the non hook end over to the drivers side, then when I'm unloading all I do is walk down my drivers side loosen all my winches go to the passenger side and pull all my straps back to the passenger side. Roll them up and put them away, I also attempt to do this with 2 in rachets except I throw the non hook end over from the drivers side and have my rachets on the passenger side, but as stated b4 sometimes I need them where there is no slide track or flat hook bar

Also if I have a multiple stop load I try to over secure at the shipper that way when I get to a stop I can pull the straps off roll them up and put them away instead of restrapping every stop
Also if its a unfamiliar freight I try to get pictures of it so I can brain storm
