Milkchug bossfrog and I are both still driving for Roehl. Actually we were placed as roommates for training/orientation. Bossfrog ended up going national and I went with 14/7, my wife is also a teacher, so the few times I was home in the summer was nice to go places and do stuff together.
I'm in reefer 14/7 and the miles suck really bad. I launch on Mondays, but only once since March of last year, when I started, have they had a trip for me on Monday and it wasn't even a preplanned trip, but something they got for me after sitting around for most of the day. Besides that one time every other time I actually started on Tuesday, but they expect you to be at the yard on Monday at 7am and sit around without pay for 24 hours until they can get you a trip out. After the start of the year I plan on switching to the the dry van side and hopefully they will be able to actually launch me on my launch day and overall i'll get more miles. On the reefer 14/7 I only average about 2100 miles on the high end. I can only think of one tour in the past 10 months that I did 2500 miles on both weeks out, usually it is about 1800 the first week and maybe 2300-2400 the second week.

1026 if you are launching out of Ellenwood don't go reefer. They don't have much reefer business in the south and I never ever(except once) have a trip for me on my actually launch day and end up losing one day waiting for a trip. Go with dry van, you will get more miles and they have good freight lines in the south for dry van.

This is true, more loads for dry van then reefer or even flatbed for that matter.. seldom any reefer in ATL

So no reefer out of Ellenwood. That's good to know. Anybody have any experience with 11 out 3 back? Husband is wanting to do dry van 11/3 (waiting on current company to fax over employment verification). Also any info on ROEHL would be appreciated. THanks!

I hope you guys are still out there. lol. I am going to start at Katlaw soon and plan on getting a pre-hire letter from Roehl. I was just wondering if you guys ended up driving for Roehl, are you still there, what kind of miles are you getting on the 14/7, and did any of you guys go with the national fleet instead? I'd also like to know what kind of trucks Roehl went with. I'm on the highways in Atlanta everyday and rarely see a Roehl truck and the ones I have seen have not been the same. I even saw a blue one the other day.
Hope you all are doing well. -
im on 14/7 out of ellenwood, i usually get about 5300-5800 on average, roehl has prostars, cascadia, few volvos, kw, and now a few macks.

just went for my roehl physical today.. already got offered last week and trying to do 14/7 out of bensalem after my time out on the fleet... but wouldnt mind being normal 11/3 depending on if the miles are a lot better.
really there getting macks? thats pretty cool i drive a mack box truck now for a friend but hardly ever see otr macks is it because there expensive or less dealer network? -
Mack is known for vocational truck. I've seen some OTR. Not a bad rep from what I've seen. I drove mainly Mack's in my last job. No xp though OTR.

Just got pre hire from roehl. Looking into flatbed. I'm in PA and would be leaving out of the Bensalem terminal which is good because I'm 10 minutes from Bensalem. Is the 14/7 run a good run ? How the money and sharing a truck ?

Roehl sucks ###. I'm glad I'm rid of that BS and boob Joe out of Ellenwood. Never any miles. Always wasting time and making excuses.
