Hey drivers, I'm a current PAM driver looking to jump ship to Roehl. I've been on the phone with a recruiter but I prefer hearing this from drivers. I've been OTR for the past eleven months or so, so RDTC doesn't seem like something I'll have to do. I'll probably do orientation in Ellenwood, Ga, as that's where my cdl is out of. PAM works me so hard and pays me so little that I'm practically pulling the wagons by the shoulders and being fed cornmeal, I've got to get away from these people.
Here's what I'd like to know;
What kind of equipment do junior drivers get? I've heard rumors of stone SloVolvos lurking about in the fleet.
What is your idling policy and do you have APUs?
What is expected of me at orientation and will I be going out with a trainer?
What's the pay like starting out?
How are pay sheets (BOL) handled, Transflow or Trip-pak?
What length flatbeds and reefers do you haul?
Jumping from red to red.

Im honestly still not quite sure how starter pay is since new plan started last fall.
Orintation is the usual drug test, physical an easy stress test, physical tasks that they have you do. Then some classes, driving tests.
Transflow, and you can also fax them in too if not near transflow, just comes out of pocket for fax charge.
I don't haul flats or reefer. -

Reefers are all 53', 95% super singles and all have air suspension.
