they'd have Chocolate in them if the people asked.
I didn't make anything for thanksgiving, my folks came down from MO and we all went to Ryan's here in Rogers. -
Good luck, I wanted to be engineer or a trucker as a kid.Well I'm a trucker and a bit of a closet rail road geek still!Be safe!

Gee, Thanks....I think.
Can't forget the pics of the Hunt truck nailed by a hotshot intermodal with hunt boxes on them....hahaha -
JB on JB crime! More proof that God has a very strange sense of humor!
[ just look at the platypus]
BTW, I really like the second pic, with the BOC truck, 'cause it seems pretty obvious that the train reversed and the driver didn't realize it. And who can blame him, once I pass train track I usually don't look back, just grab as much throttle as I can. -
The Time Has Arrived mr dude.
Are you true to your word the ultimate recruiters quandary.

Live from Texas! it's ME!
ok Bum, here's the skinny.
We all read from the same computer window when we describe the same job. Depending on the person, they will omit certain information/inflate it/tell a half truth, whatever. We're all trained the same...Since I had been working for JBHT, I strived to get jobs that the Drivers want (Locals, certain dedicated runs, etc) and we all are drawing from that pile. Hence why if you spoke to me, before I hung up i mentioned "I'd better write your name and number down in case XXXXX job opens up in XXXXXXX City." I only really hired about 4-5 OTR drivers. -
Dirty Deeds I was faced with:
Hearing the term "SELL THE JOB" about 37x a day. (even though if he doesn't want otr, we still are somewhat pushed to keep you on the phone for an extra 2 minutes.)
Calling numbers in which about 70% of them were Disconnected Phone Numbers (a-la a TELEMARKETER)
Dirty Deeds I've heard of and witnessed first hand:
A Dedicated run filling and a recruiter not calling his guy/gal to tell them what happened and hoping that they soften up and take OTR so he can get his commission. Let's say there's one there who claims to be Irish Mexican and used to operate a club in Myrtle beach who is infamous for doing this.
Guys outright lying about starting pay (i've heard as high as 50 CPM mentioned before for OTR) or Including all the little bonus things like Fuel Saver, Performance bonus when they mention base pay. if you think you're getting recruiter-speaked, take that Number they give you minus 4 CPM. That's base pay. When I left, they sent us a new base payscale map. All states are now starting .35 CPM and up. when I started there were red states (.37 and up) and then there were Blue States (where we need more drivers at the time at, started .40 and up)
The Lease Purchase Program. I've heard guys say things from "It's not gonna be easy" to "Fastest 3 years of your life" As you can see on this site, L/P Opportunities everywhere are a joke. Granted some of them make it through the 2, 3, 4, however many years but most dont
and I never talked to many O/O's, but i've heard of many Owner/Operator incidents with recruiters....Probably because Hunt's O/O Program seems to be the lowest paying in the nation. the Mileage is .90 + Flex-Fuel surcharge and then the % is right about 1.25 (but we're told to say 1.60+) -
Some interesting information.
