If you started training now you would be done in 4 weeks if you go full time. Also the school near you has room you could cut that down by going on the weekends as well. As soon as you are done at the school they will send you to your new job. I know the training pay is very low for the first 3-5 weeks depending on the company and your training needs, but if you had a decent savings you could be on the road with a new company in about a month.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

All this also depends on your ability to drive the truck. Some students are in their 3rd month and just cant get it and are not able to pass the test.

You where talking about "super trucker".
Is that the same as a "supper shipper"? The guy who smells like he hasen't taken a shower in about a five days? Same clothes, usually has a gressey look in his hair and all over his face?

Hey Sal,,I am attending roadmaster Nov 10th, Im doing the weekend thing for 8 weeks.. Was it hard for you to get a job once you finished? Who are you driving for?
-
Not hard to get a job at all man. The hardest part was picking one you could be happy at while you build your experience. I went with Schneider for my first job. In a hole it seemed like a good fit for a new person and so far it's been pretty good. Also after talking to some of the people I graduated with and hearing whats going on with them I'm glad and thankful I went with SNI.retired_2009 Thanks this.

Cool,,Hows the pay for a rookie at SNI, and so far how is the home time?..SNI does have a flat bed division correct?
-
The pay is crap LOL (.28 to .31 for rookies) but seems to be par for the course for rookies. The good thing is miles seem to be plentiful and OJT pay from the VA helps out a lot as well. For home time they have plenty of options to fit your needs even 1wk out and 1wk home if you need. So far my DBL asks me when I want to go home and gets me there a day early. But after talking to other drivers my OC seems to be a little better at that then some others but you would also get the same OC living in Greensboro. SNI sold off there flatbed division not sure when but they don't do that anymore. For flatbed TMC and I think Rhoel it's called I've heard good things about both of them. Also Mcelroy in our area I heard they shut down on the weekends so your home every weekend not sure how true that is just passing on what I've heard on here and talking to others.

I know this is an old thread but since I jus registered I can't send any PM's.
Anyway, these guys were in my backyard and I didn't even know. So I ended up going to Texas and drove for p.a.m. till I.dropped out 2 weeks in my otr training.
But do they offer local driving? I know there's a food lion warehouse a couple miles from them so I was wondering if they offer placement there or some other local places.
Thanks for the help and sorry again for digging this up. -
Didn't see food lion on the recruitment list. But there are local companies that hire new drivers a quick Search on monster or one of those will pop a few up. Waste management also hires now and then.
