1LW keeps scoring pistons after inframe and upgrades.

    The PDI Stage 1 cam is adding fuel, roughly 50 Hp worth.

    What Hp rating is the ECM? If it is a 550 Hp file, is it a LOW NOX Software Kit file? The LOW NOX files run higher EGTs than the original file in the ECM. From everything you're saying you either have a major block cooling issue, a bad oil cooler jet issue or an air starvation issue. A stock tuned 550 ECM with a Stage 1 cam shouldn't be having the problems you're having. What FLS/FTS codes do you have programmed into the ECM? Some of these guys are playing with these putting very high codes in that create extra heat with no power gains.

    The nozzle ring turbo should move enough air for a stock 1LW 550 file and PDI Stage 1 cam without causing these issues. The boost levels you're getting from it, tells me you really don't have a lot of extra fuel that would create the problem either. Have you pressure checked the air to air?

    The ecm was flashed from 475 to 550 by a peterbilt dealer. The file is not a low nox file. The FLS is 38 , FTS is -38 according to the tag. They should be original settings. I will try to verify they are in the ecm. I did have a small leak in the air to air. Thanks for confirming that the turbo and cam combination will work with stock ecm.
