Look Markus everyone has accidents it happens. Sometimes it's not the amount of accidents as much as the costs that came out of the companies coffers to fix the situation. Not all companies will go through insurance to pay for repairs.

your going to have to start calling companies, be honest and sound like you own your mistakes and see where it goes. Honestly, at your age, you may be done in this industry.

I didn't read all 5 pages. But the thing I am seeing is that you don't know where the back end of your trailer is and I say that nicely! You need to take your time and pay attention to where that trailer is going! If people start giving you crap, turn the CB off! GET OUT AND LOOK..G.O.A.L.. If you have pull forward 50 times then do it! Take your time! If I'm tired and/or very uncomfortable with a parking spot, I won't take it! I would rather park somewhere else. But then again I hate parking at truckstops anyway.

I was in 2 weeks with Knight, so I had about 6 months experience. I pulled into the Only truckstop I could find in Houston that had parking and it was ONE spot and it was a pretty simple spot. But I was tired and really frustrated and then really embarassed because of several drivers that were waiting for me to park, so they could walk back to their trucks........A chimpanzee could have done a better job! I had that dam truck on the grass, ran over some flowers and it took about 15 pull ups before I could get it in. All 5 of those guys were just standing there shaking their heads. I park it and immediately close all the curtains and waited 45 minutes before I went into the store, to make sure they were all gone LOL And I had to pee like crazy the entire time.

Take your time. Relax, pay attention to where the back of your trailer is. Get out and look. No matter what anybody says, everybody was a new drivers at one point and everybody makes mistakes. Learn from them and move on.

Nothing wrong with his age. I'm 65 and about to start driving again after being off for 18 months. I was in the truckstop 3 weeks ago and struck up a conversation with a O/O and we exchanged info. Then the following week my old dispatcher at JB Hunt called wanting me back. I think somewhere in the next 3 to 5 weeks I may be driving again.

you know all thease companies expect you to be well expierance. maybe the company you worked for put you in some places you should not have been. with that said i would apply at some companies that have route or dedicated freight and then slow down and take your time never assume that you have enough clearance, get out and look. and 4-wheelers arent your freinds. happy trails

    Hi Markus,
You know I am really sorry to hear about this happening to you. I am about your age, and I decided at the end of training that the job was not for me ---- two things that help me decide this was I missed my family, and another thing was I once made a wrong turn in San Francisco, and well it was not a pleasant experience driving down roads a truck did not belong on. You have a beautiful family, most people I think would be extremely jealous of what you have. Have you ever thought about maybe getting a passenger permit and just drive a school bus around, and help your wife run her flower business? You probably would not make as much money, but I bet your life would be better. I bet your wife is secretly happy you are home. I wish you the best

    Markus Thanks this.

Ahh yes. I did the tour of scenic downtown Scranton, PA once with a 53 ft double drop grossing 80,000. It was my first time down I-81 and they have this really confusing sign I thought it was telling truck traffic to exit. As soon as I did I knew I was cooked. All the tourists got a show that day.
