The only reason I don't mind running the Turnpike is the parking on the side of the road, often able to park so that a reefer or other noisy truck can't park right next to you. 'Course you have to plan ahead re: food and drink and such.

Then again, I work for an outfit with a terminal right in Carlisle, so...

There is that T/A at the I-70 interchange, not sure about other parking though, but it's not that far from Carlisle.

There used to be another truckstop in Carlisle not far from the J. I used to park there when I drove for Stevens.

That J always fills up early unless you get lucky and someone is pulling out. I run that area alot and haven't had an issue yet at the petro even late it has the biggest lot of the 3. Usually at least a spot or two open especially down towards the back in the corner. Think someone else mentioned the hotel too its down on the right towards 81 always one or 2 guys parked the the lot is decent sized. Still taking a chance though that late with elogs. But still, I do it all the time. You gotta love that babysitter. Not. Only gotten burned a few times but usually get something at the petro. Just make sure you're in a parking spot, especially at the J if you can get in there.....be careful about getting 'creative' and making a spot. Last few times I've parked there a local bear was rolling the lot periodically writing tickets if you weren'tactually parked in a spot.....generally speaking in the entrance
and scale areas. You can always roll the lot at the loves but if you get
a spot there go in and buy a lottery ticket once you're parked lol it's a lucky night for you

You have a good shot at the Petro. Always chances someone's leaving for that early AM delivery to NYC or such. Also, go behind the truck shop, there's the best place to look. Or, prebook a sport from the Petro.

Yep. Can't have much sympathy for them either. We all run out of time and have to get creative every now and then but 3rd time back I was there he got 3 of them parked up there and it was early enough there were still spots open to park. They paid the price for being lazy.

There is small truck stop up the road from flying j. Its where they built the new blue beacon. Trucks oark at the old gas station across from the j. Mcds at xt 45 on 81 has a few spots. Roadway inn has some parking. Tjere are a couple warehouses off xt 44 that dont have guards a driver could catch some sleep at
