I worked for Henderson for two months. When hired, they had me recover a truck near Las Vegas, put money on my ComData card for the expenses such as cab to retrieve it and then some $ to have it cleaned. when i got my first check the folowing week, they charged me back for the advance and an extra fee. After ten days, they corrected the mistake. My Dispacther then got fired and I had not one but two at that point that did not communicate with each other. I scheduled some home time for dental work (two weeks in advance) and they left me Flagstaff over Easter weekend with a load that delivered on the day of my appointment. So of course changed that one. Made a new one for two weeks later, they ran me out of hours on the day before that appointment 500 miles from home. Rescheduled that one. Got home for my appointment finally and three days of home time. As I pull into the drive, I get a message and a load to pick up the next day. I explain Im on home-time and that gets corrected. I head out three days later with a follow up appt in two weeks. When the risk of missing it again comes up, I explain that I will be leaving the company because they cannot "Honor their own home-time policy" and being married it was slightly unacceptable. I get a phone call from the Ops manager, who says " why Cant you take one more load (sending me another 400 miles further from home) and Im already 200 miles from home. I said no, Im sorry but i am done. He then begins to scream and say thet he will ruin my trucking career, mess up my DAC and hold my pay, Accusing me of abandoning a load, abandoning a truck, using equip without authorization and so on. I told him " I am not under a load, your truck is in your secured yard where I recovered it and your Dispatcher acknowledged this! So he hangs up on me. End result, they are holding my last check for just over $600.00. I have sent emails and left messages and no one calls back. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE CUT MY TIES WITH THEM!

Just heard from another driver that quit a week after I did, and he told me that they charged him for his drug test, his DOT Phys, his plane ticket from Phx to Orientation and his hotel room. Said he ran rad his last week and only got a final check for $275.00

And companies wonder why they can't keep drivers. They treat us sooo well. Seems to me that after awhile, the word will spread and the driver pool will thin out, but it's not really the case.

I just heard back from the HR guy, he says that it is standard policy to charge drivers for all the expenses during orientation, and in addition they are charging me to recover a truck that was left in their secure yard and signed for. cant wait to see what trash and lies they put on my DAC

Quit before 6 months on the job.......yes, you get charged back for everything. It's expensive for companies to hire drivers, pay their transportation to orientation, hotel, food, physical and more and then drivers bail in one or two months. And moving freight is more important than driver's home time. Sad but true.
