I will start a thread on Schneider Tankers once I get going. Been looking for Schneider Tanker threads without luck, but meh..lol
So 3 weeks till the Hazmat came in, that means I'll be waiting 2 more weeks give or take. Thanks for the info.
Thanks patty.
I would probably not turn down any company if it meant getting started as a last resort. We have to start somewhere. Anything is better than nothing tbh.![]()
Orientation with Werner. What I have done so far...

You try Swift or US Xpress???
KH -
To be honest, I don't even want to try Swift
US Express don't hire south of Jacksonville, spoke to a recruiter today. That's what South Florida is about
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S IIIChinatown Thanks this. -
Did you try :
Florida Rock & Tank
Melton Truck Lines
FFE (terminals in Winter Haven & Miami)
Comtrak (terminals Jacksonville/Perry/Titusville)
Greatwide (may have some dedicated accounts in FL)
As I've posted before, ignore "experience required" and apply anyway. Do an online application and follow with a phone call in a day or so.tonakis Thanks this. -
florida is just a crappy state all around. you may have had better luck if you were cuban.
-
Chinatown, good to see you here again, I was hoping you would chime in

Florida Rock & Tank - I applied, not enough experience
Melton Truck Lines - have not applied to them, although I know they are a good company and strictly flatbed.
FFE - I did apply with them - no answer
Comtrak
Greatwide - first time I hear about these two, will see what they are about.
Have not been doing the follow up call.
Just spoke with Melton: they do not hire south of Tampa-Orlando line. Here is a hiring Map for Melton:Attached Files:

Chinatown Thanks this. -

Did you think of Cypress; it's a flatbed company in Florida. A few new drivers on this forum were hired by them. Notice you may move to Jacksonville; you will have more options there.
-
Con-Way just told me they don't hire south of Orlando. South Florida really is a b!@#$!
-
Yeah, I figured Jacksonville would be my best choice - still no income tax and a lot more possibilities. I regularly read posts from other people in this forum who are pre-hired for 10-15 companies, and I, with all my endorsements, TWIC, passport and clean driving and background records am going, out of all, with Werner for orientation.
Is Jacksonville the best place for trucking in Florida? Or Central Florida (Tampa, Orlando and anything in between) is better?
