hey all. My fiance and I need some info. We want to move to the Cartersville area. One reason is,it will help my income and / or home time. We now live in Aiken SC which is not a main Millis lane.
We have two well trained Labradors. Im thinking we would like to rent something modest and inexpensive at first to allow us to learn the area and give my better half an opportunity to find a job.
Aside the obvious, does anyone have info or referrals to help? Anything is greatly appreciated!

I don't know LB. BRF told me the lane is not as busy as of recent. They are not even hiring out of this area at this time. 2 weeks ago, they deadheaded me home from Albany.
I believe living in Cartersville would give me much more opportunity (get more miles) and chances to stop home. Also I can get the truck serviced during home time. There are other reasons we would like to move there. -

I start in Cartersville on May 28th and i live about 15 minutes away from the Eden, NC terminal, but my Daughter lives in Cartersville. We are thinking of moving down there as well. I've spent some time there and it seems as if it's a great community (plus, close to a terminal...more home time, maybe?? lol)

Sorry I can't help with your questions, but I've thought about moving down there myself. I wonder if your move was to "better the company" if they would let you use your truck and trailer to move your personal things to Georgia

i wondered this as well

I have hauled a driver's personal belongings in a trl before, but I have no idea what the circumstances were

I am starting with Millis on the 17th of June after three years of flatbedding I live in between Cartersville and Gainesville. Think they would mind if I swung by the house ever so often? I don't see why not! Do they ever let you bobtail from the Cartersville terminal? One more question. If they put me on OTR how often can I request home time? Right now I drive for Boyd and get home every weekend. Well, 90% of the year.

how long you stay out is entirely up to you some stay out longer I stay out abt 4 weeks but 2-3 weeks is probably closer to norm, as far as swingin by home I think as long as the load get to its dest, onj time and ur not way out of route they generally don,t say anything
