The wheels "wobbling" is because they are Dayton wheels, (open center rims, held on with wedges) and they arent "trued" up when the mechanics put them on...

As far as lights not working; thats entirely on the driver!! At least here in VA there is NO EXCUSE as every port and container yard will replace them AND you cant leave the port UNLESS all lights are working....

Everyones different, I love it because Im home more, and HALF my miles are empty miles all the while making the same money as being loaded and returning loaded when I was pulling a dry van......

Not all chassis are junk , lots of nice units on the road as well , some new 48' - 53' units have the skirts on them same as the dryvan / reefers use , alum rims

And some ( like me ) use our own chassis. Which we do for dependability and safety. We haul overweight chemical and gas loads and while our stuff has problems, it's minor by comparison and I like what I do....it can be frustrating at times but all in all, a good deal. Cans are tough and tough on your equipment. Know your game and take care of your iron and all will be well.

Like LT said, there is a on line repair stop near the exit. They can basically rebuild your chassis right there if needed so any junk outside the gate is the drivers fault.

And guys, next time you buy a 12 oz can of freon ( R134 ) you can thank me, we have humped 40 or so loads up to the distributor since the first of the year so there's plenty to fix your stuff with.

Right now it's running a little over $7.00 /lb FOB Dallas via Shanghi so it you give AZ $14.00 for a 12 oz can......mmmm that's a little high, yes?

Have you seen the nice rigs with chrome on the highways? or you only concentrate on the ugly containers, rusted and about to be retired? like lost trucker said, you have to fill a pti sheet before you get out of the port and if the outbound check guy sees one light out, you have to go back and replace the chassis or have it replaced! Drive vans, tankers, flatbeds, fertilizer tankers, for 10 years, then try containers where the customer unloads, more than two hours, $30.00 an hour while you watch tv in your bunk in air conditioner, they sweep the cont., you just lock and unlock four pins! try it, then come back ten years later and your response will be, thank god for containers!
