I have my original turbo. with over 1.5 mil miles & 18 years old. I came across a good price on one & thought I may buy one now, instead of waiting til it goes out on the road & cost 5 times as much. I can get a new no core b/w 300-370 h.p. that matches up with my turbo # & is a direct replacement with a 63 mm compressor wheel,or for the same price get one that is for a 400-450 h.p. with a 70 mm compressor wheel, but the cross reference does not match mine. looking at having my e.c.m tuned sometime in the future. anyone have an opinion on which to get? would the 450 h.p. work on my engine like it is ? 11.1 365 h.p. I hate to buy the 1 for the 370 h.p. than have to upgrade to different turbo when I have e.c.m. tuned. if it were not for the many set backs, I would of already had e.c.m. done. just thought I would take advantage of this offer, which is the cheapest I have found while it last. it will most likely be a couple months or more before I have e.c.m. tuned.

I'd start by calling the place you intend on taking your truck to get the ECM tuned. They should be able to make a recommendation on if your stock turbo would work or if you need to jump up in size. They might even be able to give your a recommended turbo number for the horsepower you're jumping to. If they give you a part number, you can Google it and get an idea of the price you'd pay if you miss out on your current deal. If you're sure you're going to tune the ECM, I'd hold off till you have more info.

I think you should get the 70mm compressor wheel turbo and keep it in the truck with you, until you decide to get the ecm tuned. You can put it on now, but it may be a little sluggish without the tune.

yeah I plan on having rebel tune my e.c.m. but cannot have done for a couple months, but wanted to get one of these turbo's before the offer is gone. I p.m. rebel. maybe I can figure out something.

The tune will most likely add between 75 to 100 hp on your 11.1, so going with the Borg w/ the 70mm 450hp might benefit you the most. Rebel will chime in soon and give you his expert opinion.

I would look into Borg warner but not the turbos they recommend for the 12.7. 171702 is 75/100 compressor and 88/96 turbine. It's large even for a 12.7.

I would look into the 92mm turbine wheel and either the 67.7 compressor or 71. The 67 compressor is stock billet and comes with the race cover.
