Can anyone tell me what the manufacturers recommendation for the water temp should be in a CAT 6NZ? Fully loaded. Thanks

Mine stays around 175 to 180 and will creep up around 200 when pulling hard..
-
Thank you - What temp does the fan come on normally when pulling hard?

My Kitty wears bigger pants. 220 - 230 is about right. I run about 200 as a norm. 140 on the drives, loaded.
OOWife_Kay Thanks this. -
217* is what the ECM is programmed to kick the fan on automatically.

I have the same truck you do and the water temp gauge normally sits on top of the bar in the middle of 150 and 200 with approx 185 tstats.
Ive been told that 6NZ gauge temp sensors read the temp of the coolant coming back fom the radiator. -
I just purchased a 2000 with a Cat C-15 6NZ.. I bobtailed for an hr and half and my temp gauge read at 190 to 200. I was a bit concerned so I contacted the ex owner and he stated that it usually ran at that temp. Reading all these different comments it looks like I shouldn't worry about it too much? Should I worry

Mine usually runs around 185 bobtailing or loaded. Runs around 195 on a real warm day and will creep up to 210 for a little bit right after I get off the interstate when loaded
