Why I don't sell trucks. Trucking schools mostly. NO body makes one to please everyone. Cookie cutter Trucks are the norm. Everyone has to learn. The O/O is very hard to get. I just hope to offer advice.

Could you imagine a bunch of whiny, stuck up, selfish ex drivers selling trucks?

Salesman: "You should buy this truck."
    Buyer: "Why?"
    Salesman: "Because."
    Buyer: "Because why?"
Salesman: "What is this? 21 questions? I'm going to smoke. You figure it out!"
Boss: "You can't treat customers like that."
Now ex-salesman: "You can kiss my ###. I quit!"

I've been "Done" since Feburary. But I'm ready to come back to OTR now. I wish I could do other things, but I have a learning Disability or something. I have a hard time figuring things out and being around People ,and Things just don't stick in the noggin unless I do them regularly. All except Trucking. I can read maps, plot routes, Keep up on Regualtions and News, make sure my truck is safe, Handle any type of traffic with patience and professionalism, deal with screaming Shippers and Receivers(not from anything I did LOL) ect, without a hitch. When I'm behind the wheel of Truck, everything seems alright with the World. Give Me my Rig and an open road in front of me and leave me Alone. I'm coming to the conclusion that I need to stop being scared and just Buy My own Rig so I can run my own business the way I want. I think I would be much happier. It would be harder and more stressful, but I would get to enjoy the fruits of my success and hard work instead of a Company who doesn't care about me

Weekly is about right. Then, last summer, I had no choice, the docs wouldn't sign off on an SPE Certificate on my new disability, and my career in trucking ended because my last employer thought saving $250 by not repairing my brakes was far more important than leaving me a cripple.

I went on strike and parked the truck for 2 years. Nobody else went on strike with me so nothing has changed. Came back in a different segment. Now I only work half the year. One week on one week off. My attitude is great.

yeah, once when i blew a fan belt on I55 in IL. In the snow. put out my triangles, spent a bit replacing the belt, picked up the triangles and promptly locked myself out of my running truck with my cell phone on the dash. (usually keep a spare key hidden on the truck, but used it that morning when i was groggy and went inside to get coffee before i hit the road and locked myself out. placed in the cupholder to remind myself to put it back when it finished snowing.) had to walk two miles to the nearest exit then another mile to the nearest open business to use their phone. (noone was stopping on the interstate for me) then had to walk back to the truck. The whole walk back was telling myself thats it. going to go back to factory work. well i'm still driving lol. must be glutton for punishment.

Oh man. For me, it's one in the ignition, one in the pocket. Open the door, goes back in the pocket.

One thing I will do, eventually, is put a magnetic key holder somewhere. I HATE locking myself out!
