I found me a gig running from the Carolinas to Texas and Kansas, I'm sure there will be some places in between too. Hope miles will be more consistent, supposed to allow driver more choices about loads and more consistent home times. Average length of runs is 1100 miles. And won't have to go to that 75/100 mile area in and around Baltimore, Philly and the doo doo pot of NJ and NYC.
We shall see. I'm sure it ain't all peaches and cream. I just want to drive and get paid. Don't like short runs, sitting in docks not getting paid and truck / trailer repairs not getting paid. Wish it could have worked out but this new one may be better suited for me. I plan to keep up with y'all on here and will let you know how it goes on my new adventure.
Keep on truckin!!

Well got on the yard around 0800 this morning and Lyn was pulling my truck outta the shop! Runs like brand new! Had a blown drive tire....got that replaced....dunno how that happened...must've been on my way back yesterday....back out to Pitman today....wonder what's in store next...Philly? UGH! lol
-
A live unload, then a live load, both in Tampa, will eat into your 14 bad lol
-
when did we start hauling tankers? I think I got my experience in with my "weekend" load. Picked up some kind of liquid in plastic totes in the middle of farmland MD. Only 23k but #### does it feel like 50k! And not to mention, gotta be REAL careful when stopping. This stuff will push you forward. After I got home, I was STILL rocking back and forth. lol

one of those wasn't VF was it? ended up having to get my break there it took them so long to load......and only half a trailer at that was the first of 2 pickups.
been a week of things that make you go hmmmmm.......lol
best one was yesterday at the pilot just north of Louisville stopping for fuel......had to hit the bathroom bad so go in and there's the 'bathroom being cleaned' bar across the doorway gotta find the other one.....walk the store over don't see it anywhere so I walk back over to the first one and bar is still across the door but the girl is coming out to the doorway and moving to remove the bar.....can't help but notice she's tucking in her shirt......hmmmmm......ask her if it's good now as she pulls the bar down she says yes so I go on in......now I should be the only person in there given she pulled the bar down as I was standing there but i'm pretty observant of my surroundings and notice the door to one of the stalls is closed....and really shouldn't be if she just cleaned them and she was the only one in there.......so I do my business and nobody else has come in behind me and as i'm washing up a cell phone rings in the stall that has the door closed lol....there's a guy in there......he comes out and tries to play it off and hurries on out the door but hmmmm.......lol
it would appear maybe somebody got lucky in the middle of the day in the bathroom at the pilot with one of the girls that works there.......at everyone else's expense that had to use the bathroom.......hmmmmm indeed.......
and then get up at 0130 this morning ready to roll on home from Knoxville and the truck won't start. got a flashing light that says 'trans alert' and an active fault code on the dash......cycle through the on/off with the key a few times and same thing. dead. not even a click. wait about 10 minutes and try again and it finally fires up with no lights and no faults. hmmmmm sign of problems to come I wonder? ####### auto......too many moving parts and too much control given over to the computer. knew I wasn't going to like that thing and I was right. and almost ruined my trip home this morning. -
HEY...my truck used to do the same thing. Sometimes I would be rolling down the highway(now you got that song stuck in your head, don't you? lol) and check engine light would just come on and stay on. Active fault, etc....just had to pull over....turn truck off...pee break! lol then fire it up and all good. I guess they fixed it as it hasn't done that in about 6 months or so. Got my hat Thurs and called DM a "faker" for calling in sick Weds. Kinda got that, "If I felt better I'd strangle you" look! lol Well, I've driven, this past winter, sicker than hell one day...NOT FUN AT ALL!!!!!!!! But, we have to do it....at least they can lay their head down on the desk...if we did that...CRASH!!!!!!!!!! lol

No my 2 stops in Tampa were Red Bull and Sun Coating lol. The Sun Coating load went to Chicago. So rolled out of Tampa Thursday about 1400 and delivered at 1000 this morning. Now back down to North Vernon and over to Dickson TN.

Any load with bulk liquid totes over 1000 gallons (usually 4+ totes) requires a tanker endorsement depending on if a state has updated their laws to reflect the new requirements of the FMCSA. All the states must update their requirements by next year.

this is funny.....after explaining my frustrations with my DM over certain situations I'm getting here.....I still get nowhere! It was like I was at a Shrink and they were telling ME how it could be so bad. Really....guess it went in one ear and out the other. lol Just said, POINT BLANK, either you keep my crazy-### busy or else! lmao think they got the point...but then again...think it went in one ear and out the other...again! We'll see.

maybe you're just not puckering you lips fat enough yet hehehehe sorry man couldn't resist
I got a nice one. 800+ Frankfort to new haven. with 2.5 days to get there and firm times on both ends. get to the shipper 30 minutes early for the appointment after i'd already burned 3 on the clock getting out of the previous final and getting there. proceed to sit 5:48 waiting for a door. then sit another 1:25 before the first pallet goes on. finally 4 more hours later they give me the green light and tell me I can't park there even though i'm now out of time. I just rolled over to the staging yard, backed into a spot, pulled the curtains and dared anyone to say anything to me. even though i'd already gotten 10 sitting there I hadn't slept any waiting to see what was going to happen and only got a little nap while they were bouncing me to death loading me......and at that point it's already 1930 so not many options for parking in that area that late. since I had plenty of time anyway, there wasn't a gate to be locked in front of me, and I was really annoyed at this point, I just went to sleep and rolled when I got up. they never said a word to me while I was parked there. not my fault they waited fully 6 1/2 hours past my appointment time to put me in a door and then took forever loading. then spent the day fighting 68 through Maryland with 78k. at least I've got plenty of time to sleep and watch tv before I have to get up and go in the morning.
this was one of those days it really felt good to get out of the seat and stretch out lol
