When you get a CDL the state does a background check. The only time anything more should be needed is if you were going to a port or some other place requiring twic or hazmat. The GOA has pretty much said twic is worthless and loads I've taken or inquired upon requiring this seldom pay enough extra to bother with anyway like OD rates now. So why would I want to waste money and my time to pry into someone else personal business when it's not needed?

And being it was reinstated something not worth the waste of your typing here. Now if's I going to hire someone and fire someone it would more than likely go like this. I'd hire the driver cause a clean MVR is a good asset and what ever was in the past my experience would let me know long before it went down so I could take appropriate action. And I would fire you cause you seemed fixated on other peoples business as to where it could cost me money as an employer through some job seeker suing me cause of your actions.

I really doubt that ? Do you have confirmation saying what they check for ? We've seen posts that plenty of felons , people with DUI's etc. have no problems getting CDL's .

I had to go back and look it it up since no loads today pay. You're correct I was thinking of my personal cdl. When I go t renew they do the pre-check for hazmat renewal cause you have to take the test again each time.

After being stuck with Canada loads for 3 years it was tempting to get a DUI to put an end to it . When the U.S. started requiring passports our drivers that didn't already have them refused to get them . I already had one . For a while I was the only driver in our terminal with a passport .

You can still go as a tourist.(and get good medical care) All the truck rates I ever priced going there
    wasn't worth it to me.
