    I believe I've seen ads with both "Axle Doctors" & "Axle Surgeons" as trademarks of the same company, a national network. I've seen many burnt up trailer spindles replaced by those guys, yup, they do good work.

    Thanks for the photo, mine was certainly not that bad. I think we got to the blown seal petty quick, thus reducing the damage from oil starvation.

    Any axle surgeon that doesn't line bore your housing is not an axle surgeon at all. Axle surgeon is a registered trademark of precision machine corporation. People use the name loosely and it's a shame. We have a fully patented process invented in the 50s and 60s. It has been developed and updated ever since that time. We are a nationwide network. If u have a repair made by an authorized axle surgeon in Maine and have a problem in Southern California we have warranty for you through an authorized axle surgeon there! Pay attention to the jig the welder is using to install his butt welded spindle. We line bore the housing and press fit the spindle 4 inches up in the housing then weld and plug weld. Have one of those butt welded ones come off going down the highway and see what d.o.t. Does about it. In a time where everyone's middle name is sue it pays to have time tested proven technology. With a patented process and certified technicians to make sure u stay out of court. Not to mention if a warranty issue should arise 2000 miles from home!

    I had some job done , @ Volvo in Defiance, OH; they called mobile axle doctor ; I have 1.2 mil miles; first I got a brake/abs code, I ignored it, after awhile oil leak; The bearing was moving freely on the axle and push the sensor; i'll never ignore this abs codes I didn't know is possible to weld it safe, lots of tensions from weight road on the axle; but they insured me is ok, never had problems with one of this to break, actually the axle is made same way ; paid 1500$, still lots cheaper than replacing the whole axle;
