Hey Everyone, I'm an owner of a Century Class with an N14, 13spd past 5 years and run dedicated generally light freight 28k max. I run 3300 miles a week. Anyway, I am really interested In a sweet 86 Pete with a Cat 15spd, Now we all know a Pete is a real truck, I especially love pre-emmission, this Pete looks awesome and a great perk of the deal is only 250k on a complete over haul. My question is.. Would I loose much in fuel mileage? I am willing to accept a point, I mean, it is a Pete right, haha, oh I am averaging 7.5 now with the limited specs I have already mentioned. Thanks in advance.

Always loved this N14, hell of a motor. 359 rears 300 gal total fuel capacity
Pete has 3406-B for what it's worth, not sure of the rears, also has 250 Wheel base, also would be guessing on fuel cap, looks like 150 on each side? -
is the cat air to air or jacket water aftercooled? I had an 87 LTL Ford with a B model jacket water aftercooled engine and it was awesome.400 horse 390 rears 13 speed and big rubber.Running empty in the rain all you had to do was touch the throttle slightly and it would spin the drive tires. The four and a quarter air to air engines were just coming at that time and mine would eat them alive. When changing gears just feather the throttle and the trailer would disappear in black smoke.

You should be able to get 6-6.5mpg with that Pete depending on your right foot.
-
yes... Had a 91 pete 390 rears 15 over and I got 4.5 to 5 mpg loaded or empty.. You could have 120k on the deck or a empty van.. you would never get above 5.2... best truck I ever owned..
-
and the rear ends... There is a lot more to mpg than speed...

Good feedback thanks, Kina what I was thinking, Your gonna pay a lil bit to look good going down the road right, but also could balance itself out too with maintenance and repair. These conventional freight shakers are throw away trucks after a million really.. I've got a million 5 on it and replaced #### near everything except brake lines and hoses and whatnot. Don't think I want to take it that far right.

Air to air.. Sounds sweet bro, good ol days, I know that's when they built trucks or at least gave you a good base gur aftermarket add ons.
-
Yeah, I've Always heard around 5. I was like tho "they can't be getting 3 something loaded! Wonder how that is when so many variables can affect fuel mileage these days...
-
If I actually lost 2.5 mpg, Wow! That's quite a bit, wth, I need more writer offs anyway. See I can talk myself into that Pete no problem, lol!
