i would be interested if you have good records of service. Also i would to see some pictures of the truck as well as if youd allow to get some analysis done thru other shops. I would gladly take some time off in your area to have it done. Feel free to pm me ill give you my personal # and all that thru there. If youd like to discuss further. Also would pay to have it delivered to where i live in the arrangement of rental car service to get you back home & some extra money in your pocket but id need to know how well it has been serviced over the last few years and so forth.
can someone tell me about what my truck is worth just a ball park figure

Hey chill out. Ain't no reason to get mad at the mods. They're doing their job and you should've read the rules. Show a little respect. If you want help with this disrespecting everybody isn't the way to get it. Take a chill pill.
Now to answer your question its worth what somebody will give you. Bottom line and financing something that old reguwrdless of milage is hard. Personally I'd say your below the 18k mark without looking at the truck or seeing the condition. Your right at the critical time and unless you have all your oil samples to prove the condition of the motor most are going to assume they're going to drop a good chunk of change in a year for an overhaul. Repainting the truck won't increase the value at all matter of fact most things won't. Its kinda one of those situations where you can spend all you want to get it ready to sell but don't expect to see the money back out of it. New rubber paint etc is only going to get it moved faster won't add any value to the truck. An overhaul is different depending on the finance companybut even then its like pulling teeth to get them to finance something that old.buddyvuk Thanks this. -
So you could care less?

You may have figured out by now, this is not the 700 club. We are real drivers, doing a thankless job, for little money. A truck with 700K is of little use to me. I wish you the best.

That truck is worth $20k minimum as components alone. An intact running 6nz is minimum 15k. 18 speed another 3-5k. If the tires and wheels are in any kind of condition another 2-4 thou.

Your location is going to kill your value of that truck. If you were to sell it east of the Rockies, I'd say 18-20k easy. In Cali, your going to have a hard time, since correct me if I'm wrong, the new buyer can't register it.

My son just sold a similar truck , ( shorter wheelbase ) and got $12,500.00 for it , lot of lookers and tire kickers but few with $ in their pockets.

Your point?
90% of older rigs are worth more when parted out, that isn't brain surgery.
Only minor detail is, are YOU going to spend a week or two parting the thing out, storing parts, then waiting an indefinite amount of time before they sell for what you think they are worth? Doubt it.
Then there is the FACT that all those high dollar parts may be in marginal condition. I know nobody that would pay $15,000 for that Cat motor, with those miles on it and little history of a recent full rebuild. MAYBE $7k for someone who likes to keep their fingers crossed, certainly not $15k though.
In the real world, the rig is not worth $20k, certainly not in my area. It would advertise and sell for maybe $15k as a whole, I doubt much more. Like already said, who is going to finance a truck that old?
MartinFLATBED and cetanediesel Thank this. -
I like the specs of the truck. If the body panels are straight, it would be worth the money for new paint. Some guys don't like the Classics for whatever reason, but they look really good if kept up.

My point was that I wouldn't discount the idea of selling it to a glider builder, or anyone who wants just the engine. Vanderhags truck parts wants 12000 plus 4000 core for a 2000 c-15, If his tires are good a tire dealer would give 3k in a minute. I just sold a Cat powered truck this spring, 2004 387 pete for 20k with 800000 mi and a 10 speed. The guy tried to lowball me and I informed him he had only bought the motor the rest of the truck was free. He wrote the check on the spot.buddyvuk Thanks this.
