So make it to Clarksville to unloaded, supposed to reload at same location then take trailer to drop yard 1.5 miles away, tcall load and pick up empty to go pick up my next load in Kentucky. And now everything starts to go wrong!
they will not reload me until 8pm and its only 2:30, no I cannot sit on the lot and wait I have to leave the premises and come back. So go to truck stop in Ky wait it out and come back. On Time for appointment but they are taking appt after mine first. Now I'm starting to sweat, I have 70 minutes left on my 14.
finally get in dock and getting loaded. They make you sit inside while loading and as Im sitting there in walks a other Wolding driver and he asked for the same load number I have she tells him I have it. Truck is now loaded, I have 9 mins left on 14 and I have to leave the premises. Driver says he was supposed to tall load I say so was I and head out the door. No big deal just double booked right?
get over to drop lot can't get lock open and then get chased back to truck by a frickin raccoon!!! Call dispatch learn how to work lock and that raccoon's will not attack unless they have rabies, very comforting.
get trailer dropped, hook empty and crawl back over to empty warehouse on corner. Hours of service long over.
message comes through on qc did you leave paperwork in trailer, crap I forgot, no big deal I will take it over in the morning. Yeah..uh no. Get phone call from from driver he's at drop lot. He wasn't supposed to tall load he was supposed to pick up tcalled load, and read it wrong. So he comes over to get paperwork.
So I wasted 7 hrs of my driving day to pick up a load for someone already there. Got my pay summary this morning and got paid for 1 mile, that's one mile. Nothing extra.
Im sure your wondering why I have the time to write all this, well that's because Im sitting on the side of the road with a flat trailer tire. I made it to the KY state line 8 miles away. If I find out who dropped trailer I will kill them.
H.O. Wolding is a GREAT company!

Weeble I remember you talking about a load to Fontana ca coming from beaver dam . I was wondering have you ever been to colorbok/ Athens paper out there ? If so do you know if there is overnight parking ? Can you arrive early for you appointment? Thanks. Timecook what kind of dash cam you have I have been thinking of getting one
-
Yes been there many times. No overnight, but I believe they start receiving at 0600. You can park at Ontario and not have to start your clock, it's less than 5 min away. I'm hoping to get one of those next Thursday/Friday.

Mine is just a normal Sony Handycam. I only got it over a GoPro because I wanted a normal camera to use elsewhere that had zoom if I wanted it. But the cameras on board software isn't intuitive and the camera records to the memory card in an odd format so you pretty much need their software or if you have a Mac you can use iMovie to get the files off the card. All I want to do most of the time is cut the video I have on the camera and drag the files to YouTube on my computer, but because the software is so convoluted I'm forced to jump through a bunch of hoops.
I would recommend getting a GoPro and buy a good window mount. The ones they sell at truck stops seem cheaply made and are overpriced.
Bram that sounds like hell... You should have made 20 bucks for zone pay on that load because it was under 25 miles. I think that's how that works. -
You should definitely be getting zone pay for that escapade. Also had a flat on a trailer not too long ago up in New York that I had to get fixed also. There was a point last summer where I had a string of trailers in a row that I had to get tires replaced. I ended up getting a call from safety about it and I explained to them what had been happening. They told me to call them if it happened again so they can find out who had the trailer last so they could have a little #### chat.
Parked for the night in OKC, hoping the weather holds up long enough for me to get out of here. Anybody traveling our route out to Arizona from Wisconsin was in for a treat today, it was murderers row for storms today especially tornadoes. Be safe all. -
I got a load from Battle Creek headed to Omaha. Done this one three times now. It's a nice easy run, and they picked a slightly better delivery time than usual, though still not tight enough.
Stopped at the big Iowa 80 hoping they had a better selection for coolers. Instead they just charge more for the same ones available elsewhere. Sitting here having my truck rocked side to side by this wind... Thinking I may move it to avoid debris. -
Thoughts and prayers go out to those in the OKC area. I left a couple of hours before that monster ripped through, my 10 hour break couldn't end soon enough. As I was walking the dog I could tell that trouble was brewing. Just thanking my lucky stars that I was able to avoid that thing.
In Hurricane Mills, TN for the night. Will scoot on over to Lebanon in the morning, drop and hook, head down to Antioch where I'll drop and hook, head down to Calhoun, TN for another drop and hook going up to West Allis, WI for Thursday at noon. Trying to get that delivery pushed up a little bit as I'll be there Wednesday afternoon. Need a PM so they'll probably get me something from there towards the yard. Be safe allThe Challenger Thanks this. -
Sitting in Calhoun, TN waiting on my load. Was supposed to be ready at 0500 but was told it well be at least another 3 hours. At least it doesn't deliver until Thursday.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
Glad to hear you made it out of there ok.
Sitting in Indy got here 2:00 am another miserable place to find a parking spot, don't deliver until tomorrow at 10:30. Hurry up and wait! -
Spending the night in Corbin, KY. Shipper ended up having the trailer ready at 1900, a 5 hour drop and hook, not bad. Looking to make it to Russell tomorrow, it's been a while since I've made it to the Wolding TA. Might even get the truck washed with my spare time.
