I hate to burst your bubble, but it's a real medical problem- and it can kill you. It's a cause of other things and can leads to heart disease, diabetes, stroke.

    bwink79 Thanks this.

It's not discrimination in any sense of the word... other than a high proportion of folks with those characteristics have the disease. You can push this little pile of BS as much as you like, but it won't fly.

LOL! Would love to hear what you think of others...like folks of various races et all...
Pal...discrimination is discrimination and the first ahole that pulls it on me....I already have a good friend who is an atty that is in my Liberty group that is itching to take on a case like this....this goes for anyone who might have already been discriminated against...PM me and I will give you his name and number.....only way to deal with punks is to sue their rears. ;)

I don't get why you are on the Prime forum griping about Prime's policy. If you don't like their policy, don't work for them. It's that simple.

Personally, I'm proud to work for a company that takes its employees' health seriously. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea 14 years ago, and probably suffered from it that long before I was diagnosed. I know first hand the problems that sleep apnea causes. The night I took my sleep test (pulse oximeter at home), I spent a total of 42 minutes over six hours not breathing. I don't care how you divide that up, but that's going to screw with your rest.

Prime doesn't have to require sleep tests of those who are at highest risk for sleep apnea. Nor do they have to have a well equipped gym, weight room, and cardio facility at their headquarters. Nor do they have to keep a health and fitness expert (who writes for national magazines) on staff. Nor do they have to offer an award winning driver health program for $300... and if you stick with it for 13 weeks, you get your $300 back... AND keep the equipment.

Prime doesn't have to do any of that, but they do. They know that healthier drivers are happier and more productive. That is what's known as a "win-win" in my book.

It would only be discrimination if carriers refused to hire drivers with sleep apnea that were getting proper treatment . Let your attorney friend have fun trying to find a person that has been diagnosed with sleep apnea , has accepted treatment , and has been refused a job .

Ask the 400lb guy waiting for the 2 for 5 pizza and his 4 bottles of diet Pepsi.

I had my sleep ap test done. Was found to have no OSA. However, I feel like I do have it and would probably volunteer myself for it again if I could pay for it.

I'm sure everyone thinks this is some massive money making scheme but these are real issues especially with people who suffer from it. Some of these companies who actually foot the bill are god sends for the people who can't afford it.

Your post in no way answered my question how the facilities at PRIME HQ benefit drivers .
