You are traveling by bus from Vernon to Springfield? Oh dude that sucks! Normally they send the info a couple of days before you have hop on the bus, and you just pick up the ticket at the bus station with your ID. If you pick up the bus at stop that doesn't have a bus station the driver just call ahead and verifies you have one wanting at the next stop with an agent or station. You may have to pick up the bus in Hartford.

They send the email to you as soon as they have the confirmation number. They sent mine five days before my departure date. They are probably going to order your ticket today, and you should get the email today or tomorrow.

I don't envy those who have a long bus ride. I had two stops and one bus change en route to my orientation, and two heavy duffle bags. One duffle was full of food for the road, as we were told to expect to go on the road immediately following orientation. I had to pay $18 for the 2nd duffle bag, but having the food on the road made that money well spent.

I'm now into the third week of living off that food bag with a couple of "top off" stops for fresh produce at Walmart. Meanwhile my trainer has NO food in the truck and spends $20-30 per day stopping for fast food or restaurant meals. So far I calculate I spend about $4 per day for food.

I work at the airport, last week a Schneider driver (young lady) said her truck broke down in Ohio, Schneider rented her a car one way, then a taxi from the airport to her next truck I guess...
...either of those easily beat a bus ticket cost.

I asked her if she had hazmat, that's another thread...

New trainees for orientation are provided bus tickets only. If you are a company driver and need transportation, then flights or rental cars are used to expedite getting to a new truck.

There's a 24 hour Walmart (with grocery) within walking distance of the Campus Inn, and the shuttle will pick up and drop off there.

Over the weekend, I discovered that there's an Aldi about a block away from the Walmart.

There's plenty of opportunity here to stock up on food in the evenings during orientation, and I doubt that any instructor would not be willing to stop before rolling out.

ys just take the confirmation number to the desk at the bus station and they will print your ticket out there.

    bwink79 Thanks this.

yup its that easy, the hard part is the bus ride of any time. I rode the gray dog the last time in 2009 and I hated it would rather ride the rails.
