Hello all, Recently I left Prime after going through 3 weeks of psd training, and 2 psd instructors. Let me tell you this job is not for someone that has a.d.d or someone that cannot sit still. It is also not for someone that likes to be clean and get some sleep. My experience with prime was a bad one, If your fleet manager is jack I pray for you. My first day out after orientation my trainer went back and fell asleep when i was taking a load from springfield heading to the mexican border. He drove maybe an hour that whole first week and more that 3/4 of the time he was back in the sleeper with the curtains closed, while me a new student was sitting there learning the truck. I call jack up, and he tells me I could get fired for waiting so long to report it which is understandable, Get a new trainer he was pretty cool at first mainly talked on his blue tooth while driving and talk texted which was fine with me because he was not using his hands at first. Well we all know how people may give off a false first impression. these last 2 weeks were bad he cried all the time when he talked to his gf that was still married ran off the road more than i can count on my 2 hands from texting with his hands. Had to pay for my own showers because he didnt like to shower. Also made me sleep in the top bunk with no net when the truck was moving and he was swerving all over. Also with the jack thing I was going to test out last week monday had my 75 hours, He pushed it to this week, well then i call him up he says i promise you this week, then find out that we have a load heading from jackson miss to boston mass picking up sat delevering monday , another week down the drain. I have bills to pay so i couldnt afford not making any money out there. So all in all my experience was bad. Do not believe all that you hear like I said if you like driving in open fields not seeing anything besides roads cars hills moutians. Then this job is for you

The way we get rid of the bad trainers is for you guys to drop a dime on them. Sorry it didn't work out, but not everyone is cut out for it. BTW, some of us do shower regularly!

Its pretty surprisrising that alot of people really don't understand or research what they're getting into. I think that plays a very big part in the turnover rate, people get out there and it's the complete opposite of what they thought it was so they just quit..

Do NOT blame Prime for not reporting your instructor when he violates policy or the law.

If he gets up out of that passenger seat, YOU are driving illegally. Pull over ASAP, set the parking brake, and wait for him to get back in that seat. Truck doesn't move, he doesn't get any money. He KNOWS that he isn't allowed out of that seat.

Prime policy prohibits you from being in the top bunk in a moving vehicle. If he didn't want you to use the lower bunk, then you should have been in the passenger seat while he was driving. In PSD, you are running on HIS 14 hour clock, so it does you no good to be in Sleeper Berth while he's driving.

And don't even get me started on his texting. That would have been a call to Prime Safety on the first text.

care to elaborate a little?(if possible) do you miss OTR? The pay @prime was better? (I'd think coca cola would be better)

i wanna say congrats on finding a local gig so quick, but it sounds like you might not be "in love" with it lol........congrats nonetheless! And thanks again for this thread.
