no per diem if we sleep on man, they were hiring for all entry level postions basically. From frac, to coiled tubing, logging, truck driver, and plant operators. asked about the contracts and "my intervierwer was the actual fpo of fracing " and told me the work is going no where for them its more work than people and its gonna be that way for a minute. 12 hour shifts 6/3 usually 1-4 hr travel to site work days off if want . superior energy called me about a boat equipment operator and sanjel has a job fair tomorrow so i might check both them out. any body have experince with either company?

The Halliburton thing doesn't sound to bad but I would check out a few more companies. Lots of them have the same deal but they pay 3-4 dollars an hour more. I've heard sanjel has a pretty good setup in s tx.

I'm with trican now I did a year at Pumpco. I was just in Mathis at the trican yard and they were hiring. Pumpco in Pleasanton is hiring I'm sure. It's a good career path. There's lots of room for advancement all the way into corporate at most companies. I can tell you that 6 and 3 schedule is gonna be pretty brutal. It's just not enough time to recover after 6 16-20 hour days. I also know that you won't get many raises at big red. I've known a lot of there hands and I've never met one that makes over 13.50. I don't know much about sanjel except that they've got a big contract and a man camp down there.

also don't worry about benefits. Most frac companies have awesome benefits.

Both will probably hire you if you already have a cdl. Trican hires lots of green hats some without cdls. And Pumpco will want you to get a hazmat but they'll give you time. I'm not positive their hiring but they usually are. I would also look into mission well services. Supposedly their the best paying in south Texas. I've just heard that and don't know for sure but it's worth a look.

Is there a "hot spot" in texas right now? Just wondering if you would be better off to start in a certain area over others?

People here are posting that Big Lake is where it's getting ready to boom this year. It's south of Midland/Odessa.
