anybody know about Smith Transport out of Pa.

Most of our equipment does use super singles correct, however after you get used to them they handle about the same as duals. I have little to no issue with hydroplaning unless too fast for conditions on lower tread. IF you blow a tire, you ARE screwed till help comes to you. I've blown 2 in 7.5 years.

 

Terrible on snow???? I've been on them every winter for 7 years and never had a problem that I would not have also had on duals

What ever happened with Smiths terminal in Oshkosh?? Did the Appleton Papers deal dry up?? Use to see Smith trucks constantly. Now not so much up here.. (Appleton area)

 

After our lease ended on the Oshkosh terminal, we had lost bids on a couple lg customers in general area and were not doing much dedicated in area either, so Barry decided to forgoe the renewal, and moved the 3 op's guys to a office suite in Appleton near Truck stop. The rent and utilities for 1 month at the terminal cover about a YEAR at Appleton office. We are still a lg factor in area and at Appleton Paper just not as many daycab's there
