He should have just hit the deer. Everyone knows you should never try to avoid hitting a deer. I know it is hard to do.

well it is hard to do but u have to be ready for it i know last fall when i came over town hill on I-70 at 3 am had a 12 point buck standing in middle of lane, just tried to guide it as far to the right as safely could do and wound up clippining the deer and spinning it and wound up killing it according to drivers behind me point is i didnt jerk it but was able to avoid major damage and only dented the steps which was easily and cheaply fixed

This past summer, I popped about a 70 pounder with the truck. He ran out in front of me, and I never moved the steering wheel, just applied the brakes. Bambi destroyed the bumper on my truck, folded it in the center, but me, the truck, and the load all made it safely to where we were going. Cost the company a new bumper, which they were happy to put on for me.

Had I swerved, I would have rolled off of a 10 foot high embankment on either side of the road. I was near a river and the road was on a raised levee sort of area.

Sorry for the deer, but if it's him or me, he gets it.
